Are we not even waiting for defeats anymore? 22:06 - Jan 27 with 5774 views | Dr_Parnassus | Before turning on the manager? Unbeaten in 8 games, seems people lost patience in waiting for our next defeat. For shame. 2nd in the league approaching February with almost zero to spend, relying on kids both home grown and otherwise. We are here because of him, not despite him. We are not the best team in the league, far from it. Those expecting us to put the likes of Norwich, Brentford and Bournemouth to the sword regularly have their heads firmly stuck in 2014. There is a sickening air of entitlement around the place which is the exact opposite of everything we were about that brought around success the first time. Fantastic point. Performance won’t always be there, that’s football.

But anyone judging an incredibly successful season based on the latest 90 mins against a better side is a bit of a moron don’t you think? If there is to be ridiculous overreaction to poor performances... Where are the ridiculous overreactions when we have incredible ones? There have been plenty of those, the game before this one to name but one. It would be interesting to read those same people’s views right after that game. Something tells me there wouldn’t be much said at all. [Post edited 27 Jan 2021 22:37]

He’s frightened to make changes, this is his squad now, players he has personally brought into club on bench and he has zero trust in them or himself to make a change which could sway a game in our favour. Fans have every right to call that out.

"Really unhappy" ? Get a grip. We looked like we wanted to win the game by the way in which we doggedly fought tooth and nail to get something out of the game. Which we did. As we SO often do. This time against all odds. With 10 men. It's poor yet entirely predictable form that you choose to lash out - your Cabango was poor and needs some bench time; and Cooper digs in and gets us a hard earned point.

Cabango didn’t have his best of games but was against a powerhouse in Toney. Naughton should be getting zero minutes until absolutely needed after that tonight. Shocking. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Very few made the call for changes on the matchday thread. On 63 mins I suggested Bennett for a struggling Cabango (who was poor) and Dhanda to get some creativity and go-forward. Luckily I was wrong as CH got us the point, despite breing anonymous throughout. Shows it's a tough call. Oh for a MGW to take the game to them, instead of a weak Dhanda option. Shocked that fans can't see how strong we have been in the 2nd halves, winning or losing. Our trump card nowadays is being a 90 minute team - not 45 as some clown says. Fans have every right to call that out.

I made a call for changes early on saying needed change system..listen cooper is doing a fine fine job but I still think he tactically naive...the best managers will change formations 2 or 3 times during a game if things not working he constantly plays same formation, and a good coach like tonight can watch videos of our games and know he will play this system and get on training ground and set his players up in a system to nullify us

It may have swung the game in our favour, but also may have lost us the game. You don’t just bring anyone on in any game. Nobody will know our players better than the manager and he made a call to not make a change. I don’t see how anyone on here believes they have a better grip on management than a bloke that won the World Cup for England youth, got into the play offs in his first season and sits in the automatics in his second season. He has earned trust and I think it’s sad he isn’t given any by some fans. He will know a great deal more about the capabilities of this side than anyone posting on here that’s for sure, and he has probably forgotten more than any of us will ever know considering it’s what he does professionally 24/7. If we were languishing in the bottom half and these performances were frequent then questions could be asked. However these reactions to a manager that has had nothing but success in his career is just weird. We have far more good performances than bad - the league table testifies to that.

Didn’t have my problem with the team, I would have picked the exact same midfield. I would have played Bennett for Naughton and Manning for Bidwell though. My problem is he doesn’t have a plan b. He waits for us to go a goal down and just chucks every attacking player we have on at once and pray they do something. He was going to do it today, he held off the sub because we had a set piece which is what Hourihane specialises in (thank god he did that btw) and as soon as it hit then net he told them all to put coats back on and sit down. He then did it to Morris again towards the end. It’s poor, he literally stood and watched as we got overrun. Daylight robbery how we got a point tonight but we’ll take it.

I thought Cabango had a pretty good game put in some towering headers. Guehi was quality and our best player.

Yet how many times has he stuck instead of twisted and it's worked out for us ? If it ain't broke. I know I would do the same. We're 2nd in the league because or despite of his decision making ability ? Nobody called the changes on the matchday thread - but are happily ringin 'em changes in hindsight. Wtf ?

Well I wasn’t on the match day thread, but almost lost my voice screaming at the telly, we were hopelessly outnumbered in central midfield, they were dominating the ball and it was just a matter of time until they scored, why oh why After all of the positive results and momentum we’ve gained over recent weeks, didn’t Cooper switch it up to give us parity where they were hurting us? We outplayed this team at their place not so long ago... 🤷ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸ We could have lost 3-0 tonight, and I wouldn’t have any complaints A big chance tonight for us to make a positive statement...(I think Brentford ended up doing that) All we got from the game was dogged determination, a scrambling defence and some woeful time wasting tactics at the very end, but at least we hung on for that precious point... 👠it’s amazing how one game can give such a reality check on our progress... Onto the next one 👠

Because when watching game, unless there’s stoppages, some people, including me don’t bother with the match day thread. We needed fresh legs everyone could see that, Cooper did too as he got his subs stripped ready to come on twice before bottling it. He’s had praise off me over last few weeks and deservedly so, but yesterday only complete and utter luck got us point, as someone sad in match day thread, biggest robbery since Leeds away last season.

Well in fairness who could we realistically have brought on? In a way losing his nerve would have been to panic and bring an inferior player on into a game like that. Might have been different if Smith was available. But Dhanda in a game like that? Morris? We have no idea what hes like. With the form Lowes been in and Ayews game management taking either off isn't wise to me.

We have no idea what he’s like? I’d hope Cooper knows what he’s like, he brought him in. We needed fresh legs, surely anyone could have seen that we got completely dominated. But we fluked a point. I’ve had my say on managers performance from yesterday and I stand by every word of it. Onto Rotherham where I hope he/we can put things right.

Is a few days in training enough? Would that have been the best game to give him his debut in considering he's not played any games in a while and when he did it was in a very different environment. There's no evidence to suggest we won't bounce back against Rotherham. We have following all our other defeats this season.

Saturday’s a new game Chief, as I said on other thread if we go there and get the job done I’ll be first to congratulate the manager and sing his praises. The use of his squad is a big problem for me though and I’ve said it a while. People can come back and say “we are 2nd”, that’s fair enough, I just highly doubt we can carry this on for the rest of the season. Proof will be in the pudding though.

don't know why Cooper doesn't use the bench more either, but of course that should really be reviewed game by game. Some games it really isn't appropriate or wise to use them. [Post edited 28 Jan 2021 7:49]
