So Trump wants all the ballots to be tallied in Arizona (where he's trailing) but not in Pennsylvania (where he's leading). Completely shameless. pic.twitter.com/oQSkTg1z73
Just watch Dominic Rabb trying to get himself out of a Trump sized hole and failing. Might have been an idea to tell your MPs to stop tweeting pro Trump stuff, and calling Biden an IRA supporter.

That then opens a whole can of worms if any representatives flip when casting their votes in the Electoral College

I've been following this avidly for three months and the thing I take from this is that, four years on, there is STILL something wrong with the way that the Yanks poll their electorate.
I still think Biden might win Pennsylvania, but his margin for error there is very small. Ironically, it is possible that he could win without it, which is something hardly anyone forecast either.
271-268 doesn't look a bad shout, but if Biden somehow pulls Pennsylvania out of the fire it will look a lot less close.
I think the Democrats will need something of an inquest after this, win or lose. Given the state of the nation, they should not have been scrabbling around for a path to victory like this.

"Stop the counting" - an attempted hijacking of democracy from the "leader of the free world". A stab at autocracy in plain sight. Wow!!
Every time Trump is contemplating or covering up a crime, he accuses the other side of it. Understand this and you understand a tenet of Trump`s psyche.
Trump`s speech shows that the intel is possibly that Biden has just enough gas in the tank - with the mail-in votes to be opened - to get him over the line on fumes.
It`s been a shock to see how many voters in the USA not just tolerate but positively embrace Trump`s depravity, and actually buy into his lies...

Simple really, people aren't voting for Biden 'cos he's too old.
He's 77 for crying out loud.
Learning to read clusters is not something your eyes do naturally. It takes constant practice.

Watched a report a few weeks ago about record numbers of first time voters registering to vote, but in mainly republican districts, which they didn't think pollsters were picking up.
However it doesn't explain what's going on in Pennsylvania, even if there's quite a few mail in votes to count, polls are/were miles out there so far. All very strange.

A Tump fairy tale:
"Last night I was leading, often solidly in many key states, in almost all instances Democrat run and controlled.
Then, one by one, they started to magically disappear, as surprise ballot dumps were counted. VERY STRANGE."
Donald struggles with the phenomena of ballot counting whilst he is asleep...

He's a decent old forgetful chap with some good policies.
Has he won?
Sadly not over until those Electoral College votes are counted in January
Here's a term you're going to hear a lot of...
Faithless elector
An elector votes for each office, but at least one of these votes (president or vice president) must be cast for a person who is not a resident of the same state as that elector.[104] A "faithless elector" is one who does not cast an electoral vote for the candidate of the party for whom that elector pledged to vote. Thirty-three states plus the District of Columbia have laws against faithless electors,[105] which were first enforced after the 2016 election, where ten electors voted or attempted to vote contrary to their pledges. Faithless electors have never changed the outcome of a U.S. election for president. Altogether, 23,529 electors have taken part in the Electoral College as of the 2016 election; only 165 electors have cast votes for someone other than their party's nominee. Of that group, 71 did so because the nominee had died — 63 Democratic Party electors in 1872, when presidential nominee Horace Greeley died; and eight Republican Party electors in 1912, when vice presidential nominee James S. Sherman died.[106]
While faithless electors have never changed the outcome of any presidential election, there are two occasions where the vice presidential election has been influenced by faithless electors:
Some constitutional scholars argued that state restrictions would be struck down if challenged based on Article II and the Twelfth Amendment.[109] However, the United States Supreme Court has consistently ruled that state restrictions are allowed under the Constitution. In Ray v. Blair, 343 U.S. 214 (1952), the Court ruled in favor of state laws requiring electors to pledge to vote for the winning candidate, as well as removing electors who refuse to pledge. As stated in the ruling, electors are acting as a functionary of the state, not the federal government. In Chiafalo v. Washington, 591 U.S. ___ (2020), and a related case, the Court held that electors must vote in accord with their state's laws.[110][111] Faithless electors also may face censure from their political party, as they are usually chosen based on their perceived party loyalty.

Who's going to read all that kind of guff?
And in plain English, what does it mean?
It means, an electoral college vote isn't in the bag until it has actually been pledged.
That is last resort stuff though, and as things stand I'm not sure who would want to try to undermine what is beginning to look like a fairly clear win.
Nate Silver seems to think that Trump will win North Carolina but is probably second favourite for all the others. That would give Biden over 300 college votes, I think, if he is right.
There are going to be some legal moves, but none of them are going to be based upon them being able to have a significant impact on the overall result.
It looks like the Republicans will hold on to the Senate. Which means the first two years of a Biden Presidency may be quite frustrating for him if he doesn't get the financial backing he wants for stimulus, New Green Deal etc.

The schadenfreude voyeur in me says this is unfolding perfectly, although I am worried about my popcorn stock level - and the possible effects on the streets of America (but in that order).
As reality knocks on the door of the house of delusion it will be interesting to see how far Trump and his band of enablers will go, and how long before the GOP signal the end of this debacle.
What more could you want during a lockdown?
Apart from a visit from Kellyanne dressed as a Halloween witch, of course...

There is part of me that would like this to finish 270-268, just to see where this insanity takes us. However to save lives I hope Biden sweeps what's left and ends this madness.
The GOP are really just like us, no more than bystanders, they had a good night in the House/Senate races because of Trump supporters, doubt they dare upset them by telling Trump to go.
See two QAnon believers get elected to the House for Republicans.

President Trump is not planning to throw in the towel simply because Joe Biden declares victory, CBS reports, quoting a senior Trump campaign official.
“In a free and fair election, the president will win,” CBS quotes the official as saying.

The best thing for America’s future is for @realDonaldTrump to go to total war over this election to expose all of the fraud, cheating, dead/no longer in state voters, that has been going on for far too long.
It’s time to clean up this mess & stop looking like a banana republic!
His dad's press conference is comedy gold at the moment
