Seen loads of chat around BOS and Eze, but what of Ryan? To date, no contract signed, but little concrete evidence of hard bids. Will we let him run down his contract, or will it be a case of renew g if there is no interest this window?

Not sure he'll get a move to the Prem, but can see "bigger" Champ clubs coming in for him...

Any whispers heard?

Can we go out yet?

No he isn't, he's a midfielder who is being shoehorned into a position he isn't suited to. It might be why he wants to leave, ever think of that?

Every top fullback in modern football is a midfielder "shoehorned" into the role...

If he's getting pelters for his positional indiscipline I'm not sure that attacking midfield should free him of those responsibilities.

Sean Gallagher saying that Manning has a new agent and is more likely to sign a new contract than bos.

Yeh on the one hand you think the club and Warbs are cutting off their nose to spite their face saying the won't play players who won't sign extensions, but then you watch Bright during the lockdown and again today and you can see where they're coming from. Enough pising about.

I don't get why he didn't just go to Brugge if that is his attitude. It's a step up, foreign experience is going to look good on the CV, Belgian football is respected, and it's the chance to live abroad (but still able to come home without even flying) while still young.

Can't imagine he's improving his chances of a big money move in England by poor performances possibly followed by being dumped out of the 1st team.

Disappointed in him tbh.

As somebody, probably rsonist, pointed out on here a few weeks ago he's with Paul Stretford's agency, who are some of the biggest cnts in a crowded field of cnts.

Not me I don't think, but yeah Stretford is obv a piece of work.

I hesitate to get on board the machiavelian agent angle though. Possibly a club has told his camp they'd be willing to take a punt for a lower asking price and they're engineering it down but it feels a stretch idk. Is that the sort of interest they'd want to court?

Would even have given Bright the benefit of the doubt - frustration, uncertainty, trying not to get injured - but I have to admit it's maybe starting to look a bit iffy at this point.

Think you are missing the point if you suggesting their focus is a concern about a drop in performance levels. No matter how uninterested Bright we all know he will always be a better option than, Shodipo for example. But if no one meets Brights price and he won't sign a contract then I would support the club making him train with the kids even if it meant a worse player takes his place in the team next season. This is because is bigger than these two players. It's setting a precedent for the future.

It's game theory. It's about money. It's making sure we don't miss out on future assets we cannot afford to miss cashing in on.

For BOS and Manning in their ideal world, if no one does come in for them now. They get another year of Championship experience of being improved by our capable coaching staff.

And then a free transfer with a lumpy sign on bonus and a nice fat pay rise. We can't have that for our new model to succeed.

So the club needs to set a precedent. They must be faced with three choices:

- Find a club that meets your value. In Brights case £4.5m min.

- Sign the improved contract we are offering. You can get your game time. Coaching etc and maybe next year like Eze if you play well enough someone will buy you. Win win

- Or they can go train with the kids for a year. Take that lower salary they are currently on. Not get any match valuable competitive match experience. Or focused individual coaching. And let's see just how fat a sign on bonus and bump up in pay you get then

Yes. It might seem weird if that does happen and we have someone like Shodipo playing while Brights gone full Winston Bogarde playing with the kids. But when the next product rolls out of the academy or improved scouting network he knows the club ain't messing. So they need to sign up or suffer the consequences

Long term I see the clubs stance as very good for our future. And short term it actually increases the chances that they sign the contract. So we get to keep them. And then get the most out of them while they are here and then if both sides are lucky get cash for them

Manning was poor today. BOS should be on the subs bench next game and let Smythe who was decent have a run-out. A perfect game for Smythe this.
