He will go to Newport. | |

Jazz Richards on 22:10 - Jun 21 with 2100 views | Jacket | Still think he could have been a decent player, but never had the drive, determination or application to succeed. I'll never forget his performance for Wales against Belgium in the qualifiers, but I struggle to think of any other excellent performances from him. His career never took off and apart from a couple of brief spells in QPR and Fulham he's never played regular football. He sticked around here too long when it was clear he would never cut it in the Premier League. He was happy enough to sit around and see the wages came in. By the time he plucked up the courage to leave, his ship had already sailed.
Jazz Richards on 23:24 - Jun 21 with 2054 views | Kerouac | I always liked him but it is hard to disagree with Jackett's post above. Still worth taking on a free though, a good versatile squad player and a Jack. Makes sense to me. Will be on a fraction of Naughton's wages, can cover both full-backs and play defensive midfield.

We already have Declan John. If Jazz replaced Naughton we'd have; RB - Roberts & Jazz LB - Bidwell & John DM - Fulton & Grimes ...it's just that Jazz can cover the others if we had injuries.

Declan John hasn’t been too bad for us, definitely not worse than Connor and more attack minded than our other fullbacks. Not saying he’s brilliant but he’s at about our level and miles ahead of Jazzley.

Played CB on occasion too. (Not great but extra experience if cared upon.)

He’s a defender who can’t defend. Looks great against Northampton in the league cup. I’d much rather Jazz and he’s pretty limited.

Cooper obviously doesn't want Declan John & he's probably going to be gone at the end of the season
Jazz Richards on 13:17 - Jun 22 with 1837 views | ItchySphincter | Cooper has failed miserably at developing and improving our younger players so that would be no surprise.

Jazz Richards on 13:23 - Jun 22 with 1829 views | Badlands | Can'r Roberts or Bidwell anywhere so Rushesha will step up and Govea if he can stay fit will be on the other side. AfterCV19 a lot of clubs will be looking to survive on significantly less than hey have been. A good fee for Rodon might allow us top bing in additions but, apart from MVdH and Ayew releasing salaries I have a feeling the academy will have to come to our rescue.

Phil Parkinson at Sunderland clearly changed his mind after signing Declan John on loan on the 31st January. He didn't get 1 minute on the subs bench, never mind minutes on the pitch!!

I can’t see him working anywhere unless they play wing backs. I’m sure he’d be decent with more cover and license to go forward. Equally, we don’t play that way and I can’t see us changing our system to accommodate an average wing back.

That aspect has been disappointing this season. But clutching at straws, we looked pretty good on Saturday (albeit against an awful Boro team). There were some good performances out there, much improved individually pretty much across the board I thought.

After Saturday and the amount of younger players on the pitch, I'm unsure where you are going with this.

Whaddya mean? I’m not going anywhere with it. Someone mentioned Cooper would bomb out DJ in the summer and I said ‘Cooper has failed miserably at developing and improving our younger players so that would be no surprise.‘ Which bit are you struggling with? Are you really going to tell me that other than bring in a few of his England U23 contacts on loan he’s added anything to the quality we have, by improving our excellent young players? Huh?

No it’s not. He was bought in to great fanfare as an u23 World Cup winner who would bring on our excellent young prospects. If you watched us at all you will know that he did nothing to improve them, if anything a few of them went backwards. If you didn’t see that it’s you that’s clueless. 👠
