Jonny Williams 16:17 - May 27 with 7912 views | BytholWyn | https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-swansea-brentford-luton-plot-swoops I'd love to see us sign him, albeit that it would be a risky signing given his injury history. In terms of technical ability he's Premier League quality, but he's got a great attitude and good defensive attributes. Given that he'd be available on a free we'd be foolish not to take the modest gamble (financially) of him not being available due to injury.

Yeah when he’s fit, which isn’t often. Can’t afford many more crocks we don’t know if we are replacing Kate Rees yet.

Averages less than 15 games a season over past 4 years. Quality is pointless if barely playing.

Nail and head! He is a quality player, but has had some terrible injury issues over the years. Sadly, averaging less than 15 matches a season means he would only be available for less than a 1/3 of the clubs fixtures. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Eden Hazard is quite small, as are most midfielders, low centre of gravity is key ask LB.

I’d take him on a free, as long as his wage demands aren’t ridiculous. Cracking little player if you can keep him fit!

Jonny Williams on 19:57 - May 27 with 4731 views | BytholWyn | Judging by some of the posts on this thread it's amazing we persevered with a certain L. Britton all these years. Fast forward to 18:20 on the highlights of the League One play-off final and marvel at Jonny Williams' technique in bringing the ball down from his chest, instantly controlling it and managing to hold off two defenders on the touchline (powder puff?) - with only a crude yellow-card inducing hack preventing him from getting free on goal: https://www.questod.co.uk/show/efl-on-quest/video/league-1-playoff-final-86459/E There is no comparison between Tom Carroll and Jonny Williams when it comes to the defensive stuff. Jonny Williams is always getting stuck in. If anything I'd criticise him for putting his body on the line too much. I'd offer him a one-year contract, with an automatic extension based on appearances. His average game time over the years is pretty irrelevant given that he's had a couple of serious long-term injuries - a leg break on U21 duty - and a serious shoulder injury (the evidence of which was very evident on the Sunderland Netflix documentary), from which he's completely recovered. 18 appearances since Xmas for Charlton isn't bad going. The potential rewards with Jonny Williams (still only 25) far outweigh the small financial risk if he's signed on a year contract initially.

He can't even get in the Charlton side in L1
Jonny Williams on 20:24 - May 27 with 4631 views | BytholWyn | Only because his fitness wasn't 100%, but still good enough for 18 appearances. Just read the rave reviews he got on the Charlton forums, with his match turning performance off the bench. Low risk, massive potential reward. No brainer.
