FD: EFL Cup scrapped or nah? 20:22 - Aug 27 with 3075 viewscwm02

With our EFL Cup game tomorrow against Crystal Palace, lets discuss

Do you think the EFL Cup should be scrapped and follow Spain, Italy & Germany and have only one cup or not?

If not what would you do to improve it? Also what would you do to improve the FA Cup?

It used to be the League cup and that meant something ,clubs took it seriously ,now it's our reserves v theirs is the norm

pah, it's no wonder most fans can't be bothered

It’s a major cup and way into Europe for teams like us. Going straight to pens may be an idea but other that there’s not much can be done.

I disagree, better teams would like to stay in the competition because it is an entry into Europe and will be their best chance in many cases. The early rounds maybe weakened teams but you won't see that generally in the latter stages.

We shouldn't all be tarred with the same brush you know!

Only reason it’s there because of money.

We won it 4 years ago, and provided us with some of my favourite moments as a fan. It's not for us just at this moment, but I wouldn't dream of getting rid. Replays though should go, they add little these days.

This playing the reserves thing is a bit of a myth these days the big boys these days field very strong sides against each other in this. Mourinho and Pep love counting trophies and because the you now have 6 competing for top 4 managers try and find another way of keeping their jobs. Plus I bet arsenals new manager would love to win it as would spurs who need to win something asap.
