CM - Joe Allen Should be top priority if Stoke go down. Would fit our midfield better than any other player I can think of.
CB - Yohan Benalouane Veratile defender with a good pedigree who isn't getting a game at Leicester City. Would slot into our back 3 I reckon. 1 year left on his contract this summer.
RB - Cuco Martina Another versatile defender. A player who Ronald Koeman took with him to Everton.
ST - Islam Slimani Looks like a proper striker too me, Leicester don't seem to want him.

Can't be having Joe Allen, that time has passed. I've always been a fan of Leigh Griffiths ( Celtic) within our price range and knows where the net is !

Why is it 'too late' for Joe? He's 28 and he's a model professional, so it wouldn't surprise me to see him playing at the top level until 34-35. That's 6 or 7 years potentially.
Joe is a perfect fit who would tirelessly fight for his boyhood club. A no brainer signing if I ever saw one.

I agree that we should have made more effort to get him before he went to Stoke...but if Stoke go down and we stay up, we will look like an attractive proposition to him. I'd guess he'd be one of our highest earners too.

There’ll be other clubs who will be more likely to pay the going rate for wages and a fee. But more importantly we’re too indecisive, slow and ponderous in the transfer market. We will most probably be beaten to the punch. Hope not though.

Someone also mentioned Tadic, a very nice footballer who I think could fit in here if we had a team that wanted to play.
Before looking at players, it would be good to understand what exactly our footballing philosophy is right now and build the team (and manager) around that.
Rightly or wrongly, we lost our identity as an attractive, entertaining football team a few seasons ago.

Our footballing philosophy is to change the manager at the drop of a hat and have him scrabble around with a bunch of cripples and journeymen until he finds a system that minimises their collective deficiencies in order to scrape together enough points to ensure Paul Lamberts team and two others finish below us. The new Swansea Way. Right, now let's re-sign Mo Barrow and Danny Graham.
