More devolved powers post-Brexit.... 11:50 - Mar 29 with 7993 viewsLohengrin

Listening to a radio snippet of Theresa May outlining her plan for more devolved powers post-Brexit has left me feeling slightly torn. As somebody who has always believed in the principle of subsidiarity I nonetheless feel uncomfortable with the prospect of trusting the collection of over-elevated local councillors and the odd fruit loop in Cardiff Bay with increased responsibility.

What say you?

Given the EU’s reaction to the vote in Catalonia is the Plaid vision of ‘Wales in Europe’ anything but fantasy?

An excellent point, Joe, and one that is due to be expanded on at the upcoming Hay Festival.

Is Leanne Wood on one of the panels this year ?, I think she was last year discussing a work about the surrendering of socialist principles by the Labour Party.

Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

Also the fact that all the “left wing” parties in Catalonia are fiercely opposed to independence.

That may be your view but I doubt it’s one shared by all in the Plaid and SNP movements. At the end of the day, nationalists are nationalists. Small minded, parochial, insular amd with an inherent dislike/distrust of “outsiders”.

Pc & snp aren’t nationalist parties at all. Ridiculous thing to say.

Michael Sheen is this year’s amateur panellist, Tramp.

What will be a bit of a pain up there this year will be the appearance of Ehud Barak. He will be interesting to listen to, I’m sure, but the security will probably be overbearing. There’s a good reason for that, I know, but Hay is such a laid-back week it will feel like an intrusion.
