London Overground operating from Shep Bush to Clapham but Southern (I think) cancelled them all due to “forecasted poor weather” which sounds suspiciously like an opportunity to save a few quid and just not bother running any trains. There’s been no snow since a light flurry several hours ago. Cnts. |
They were operating about half the usual Straford to Clapham Junction trains and they'd cancelled all the Stratford to Richmond trains (usually one every 12 minutes) when I got on one earlier today - which was utterly ludicrous... there was barely a dusting of snow.... the announcements cited 'due to the severe weather forecasts'. FORECASTS! You can't base your bloody train service on forecasts FFS! Total joke and total overreaction to be honest. No reason to cancel any at all in reality. |  |

Snow river deep mountain high here in leigh on sea today. ie about 2 inches.
Went to the boozer yesterday, The Mayflower, and got lumbered with a bloke who i felt a bit sorry for as he seemed a bit lonely but then realised i had made a mistake of some note as it became clear that he was a social castratus of some impressive standing.

Coming down nicely here in Ealing
Pitch inspection at 5:50am told me that a venture into Liverpool Street was a bad move today plus the Piccadilly Line was riddled with signal failures.
So instead it's WFH which has been great as I managed to walk the hounds in one of the local parks and that was superb. A slight issue when the 11 month pup decided to do his Robin Cousins impression on the frozen lake and the ice gave way beneath him. As I began stripping down to my Johnnie Squeezemullers the four legged beast decided he could do an adequate impression of a sea lion and managed to drag himself in.
Plenty going on now back home and plenty of work to do but it's currently blowing a blizzard, I'm at home tomorrow and we have a lovely bottle of Shiraz on the kitchen side.... |  |

Here's a round-up of the problems affecting the London Underground and Overground.
Bakerloo line: The northernmost stretch of the line, from Queen's Park to Harrow and Wealdstone, has severe delays
Central line: There are severe delays on both the east and west ends of the Central line from North Acton to Ealing Broadway/West Ruislip and from Leytonstone to Epping
District line: Minor delays between Edgware Road and all three westbound destinations
Metropolitan line: Minor delays between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge because of a signal failure
Piccadilly line: Severe delays because of earlier emergency engineering work at King's Cross
Overground: No trains are running between Euston and Willesden Junction. There are severe delays between Willesden Junction and Watford Junction and also Barking to Gospel Oak. Passengers traveling southbound from Surrey Quays will also be hit with delays, as well as between Stratford and Richmond, and Willesden Junction and Clapham Junction | |

We had about 2cm in Bracknell and the issue was not the snow, it was the local council's ongoing mission to make my house the Berkshire equivalent of Juneau, Alaska, i.e. not accessible by road.
