OUT WITH A DEAL EATING OUR CAKE AND LOVING IT suck it up remoaners
And like a typical anti democracy remoaner he decided the will of the people should be ignored the minute the democratic result was in total fecking hypocrite 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Despite it being voted in to law by the commons the spineless two faced remoaner MPs have totally abandoned any morals and decided to ignore the will of the British people.
It will be remembered and no election or referendum will ever be the same again in this country.
The one thing that will come is a massive surge in the popularity of UKIP or a similar party in the future who stand for the 52%.
Happy Days.

The UK had an overall trade deficit of -£66 billion with the EU in 2018. A surplus of £28 billion on trade in services was outweighed by a deficit of -£94 billion on trade in goods. The UK had a trade surplus of £29 billion with non-EU countries.16 Dec 2019.
Let’s see if Boris the bullshitter gets a deal with the EU on services by the end of the year. I doubt it and that could be a big problem. Still I’m quite happy that he finally owns Brexit.

Read that back slowly mate, pretty childish innit.
Someones in a grumpy mood. I can do serious though. The question was around how we would do better with Japan now we’re out of the EU. I’d be interested to understand how we’ll have greater leverage over Japan than the EU had. The relative sizes of the markets suggest we won’t, but that could be far too simplistic a way of looking at it. And given Japan is already one of our bigger export markets, what realistic gains would be possible versus the new EU-Japan deal we’ve just walked away from?

Is he owning it? Last I heard he was blaming the EU for the UK wanting to depart from the Political Declaration (we’d indicated we’d adhere to level playing field provisions in return for a FTA, now we’re saying we won’t).

The EU deal with Japan has a most favoured nation clause so Japan is not legally allowed to negotiate a better deal with the UK. The absolute most we can hope for is the same.

Let’s be honest: trade with Japan for the last five decades has been disastrous for British manufacturing. If it ceases completely it’s not exactly the end of the world.

We export £15bn a year to them.
That’s a lot of jobs.

What’s the import figure from the Orient by comparison, do you know?
What on earth is the orient?
We are talking about Japan.
We import about the same from them. Balance of trade is roughly even.
They’re a huge market for us. Us for them of course as well, but they’re a much bigger economy than us (c. twice the size) so the trade is twice as important to us.

Alright then let’s just take Japan. What do we import from those islands that we didn’t previously manufacture, originally patent even?
If Greta Thunberg and her movement doesn’t begin to open up perception to the desirability, necessity almost, of localised production and consumption then nothing will.
An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

Let's turn that around shall we... What do import from anywhere that we didn't previously manufacture. Thatcher put paid to all that.

Are you going to repeat this about every country ?

Global trade isn’t the problem (environment excepted). It’s led to wealth creation. The problem is that the redistribution of that wealth just hasn’t happened. In fact the reverse is true. This will only get worse with the artificial intelligence revolution that is about to take place.

Yeah, I’ve got the covered. I’ve been re-reading Hargrave’s ideas around social credit at a feverish pace.
Don’t worry, you’re in safe hands.

Practically everything, how long have you got?
Some grim reading here for you, pal.
Some of those industies that are gone would have gone naturally but so much has been given away, sold, left to decline and greedy directors and politicians have a huge part of the blame.
EDIT TO ADD...Bloody narrow minded bean counters who know the cost of everything and the value of nothing. This is not a pop at all accountants only those myopic ones without an understanding of business risks.

Industry moved from this country to manufacture overseas when people in this country realised how much cheaper the stuff was they wanted to buy when that happened.
The only way it will be reversed for mass market items is if people decide not to have 3 or 4 TVs, phones, laptops, tablets etc etc. And don’t have wardrobes full of cheap clothes. And baskets full of cheap food.
It’s not going to happen.
When we did make stuff, all of us had less. All of us. It was too expensive to have what we all take for granted now,

Aye but we could have done what the germans did...switch to a niche, retool and retrain your staff but that costs.
