Of all our transfer f**k-ups in recent years, not re-signing JA has to be up there with the biggest of them all.
I'll admit that I've not been quick enough on the uptake of this, but since the inflated transfer fees in the premier league occurred, the short-sightedness of the board (knowing that the new tv would come into effect) is staggering. £13m is an absolute steal.
Why didn't they see that this would have been a great deal when they knew the tv deal was coming into effect?

There would have been a few on here arguing not to bring him back. Arguing that 15 million was too high. However I believe Allan was preservung his Liverpool salary and we had Siggy Gomis as high earners and much lower funds than Stoke. The lower offer was due to salary. Not a big coc up just went to who offered the most and a more solid club. Good luck to him but not Stoke hope they get regulated. |

He is a quality player and would have fitted in like a hand in a glove. I can see why HJ would try to sign him on the cheap, we all like to grab a bargain, but if it was apparent what Liverpool wanted and they weren't shifting he should have stumped up the readies. Liverpool have shown they are no pushovers and won't be bullied when it comes to transfer business.
Anyway, the deed is done and the dye is cast. I reckon it would cost north of £25m to sign Joe Allen which I can't ever see Swansea City paying. We could have signed Joe for £8M early last summer and could have sold Ki for £8M to Stoke and balanced the books....but IT NEVER HAPPENED ... .FACT.
Yet we (sorry HJ that is) decides that Joe is not worth £8M and despite Joe & his family WANTING TO COME HOME we let it go and he goes on to have a great Euros where his price goes up to £12M, HJ says we'll give you £10M & then Joey phuks off to Stoke (yes Stoke I said) for £12M ....

I remember reading on here a couple of years ago that £13m (in the opinion of some people) was too much for a player like him. Fast forward to now, and £13m is not that much with the new PL TV Deal money that clubs have.
My main point was that clubs knew this TV Deal was taking place. My issue is that why didn't we forecast this and spend the money?
Granted, having the power of hindsight is a wonderful thing, but surely, being in a position where having millions of pounds at your disposal PLUS a little bit of forward thinking, we should be in a better place than we are at now.
My main question's are, why couldn't anyone spot this? And If they did, why didn't they act on it? | | | |

Not someone who is paid half a million pounds a year to project future income and increases in transfer fees. Our chairman has become an utter fvcking joke.
