On what basis can you say that? In our current predicament we'd be hard pushed to bring in a central defender better than FF! If Clement has anything about him as a coach/manager shouldn't he be looking at how he can get the best out of him? Now is the time under a new manager for Fernandez to made team captain and be made to take some responsibility for the position we are in as an experienced professional footballer. Better that for me, than sell and replace with him some promising loanee, or some 32 yr old great who needs some game time as he's been injured for the last 12 months! |
Are you serious? FF made captain of the team? If Clement has anything about him (which he does, I think) he'll ship him out and bring in one of his own contacts who is actually capable of defending. It would have to be Clement's choosing though, not Jenkins'.
Bottom line is we need a new CB who will walk straight into the starting XI. We can't waste time trying to get the best out of subpar players. If a quality signing is possible at this stage, then it should be done. |  | | |

There is no way on this earth that we can get or afford a CB who can walk into our team and understand how the players around him operate. "Experienced pro" or not, he has been subpar for us and that's the truth of it. People can deny it all they want; denial is what has gotten us into this mess. I have said since the season began that this squad was not good enough, but was shouted down for it. And now look where we are.
Bad management and inconsistent coaching, along with subpar players, is leading us to relegation. We need a new CB, the sooner the better. He doesn't have to cost the earth. IF an upgrade is possible, then it needs to be done. [Post edited 8 Jan 2017 21:25]
