The highlights again and far and especially cork are a pair of lazy cu@ts who never ever track their runners, baffles me what cork gives us he can't tackle can't header gets outmuscled too easily no pace can't ever make a forward pass and never picks his runners up hence cheating,...absolutely robbing a living as a premiership player.

And he's supposed to be the leading example captaining the side

Again though, I'm not one to accuse Cork of being lazy, doesn't his stats show he is one of top players regarding mileage run. He's just not good enough. Not his fault, just a harsh environment to be playing in.

That's why I left him out of my Sunderland team.. and we all know what Fer is all about.. when the going is good, he's good.. when the going gets tough, he's awful.. just like Ki.. not the type of players to see a game out..

Cork has been awful in the past two games.. needs benching.. but Fulton will probably be unfairly dropped. Because managers always do it.. (except Alex Ferguson, because he won everything).

The awkward moment when a Welsh Club become the Champions of England.. shh The Swansea Way.. To upset the odds.

A genuine quality defensive midfielder is the most important signing we could make. Cork hasn't had a good game all season, Leon's too old and Ki's not bothered. Any one specialise in that position in the youth?

No one good. Sheehan played the holding role for the 21s most of last season.

We tend to buy and promote more technical, attack-minded players at youth level. No destroyers, just footballers.

Yep, he's a classic case of a player who covers a lot of ground but people don't see what he does. Every team has one. I'm not saying he's the messiah, but he's not deserving of being a scapegoat. Roy Keane in his prime would look lost in this team the way we are set up. it all comes back to the mess we've got with our shape and some people pressing others not, etc. Makes them all look worse than they are imo.

We d have nobody left if Keane was with us as he would have hospitalised most of those around him.

I dread to think what Keane would make of ki or cork.

Schneiderlin on loan from Man Utd would be absolutely ideal. Quality player.

Ha, true. He'd have to find Ki first though.

Funny how he put a stint in for Sunderland in a relegation battle. He does (or did) have it in him. That's a Ki of long ago now though.

from memory, most on here wanted Allen. Stand to be corrected my memory isn't what it used to be.

For all of Jacks running around like a headless chicken he's championship standard at best.

His 1st touch is non existent, he's not got any creativity and as for captain, well.......

over the games I've attended, Cork has justified his inclusion. Didn't go to the Spurs game, I'm told by those who did that not many of the players covered themselves in glory.

Pretty much bang on for me apart from Cork. Jack seems like a good pro but i just dont think he's fast enough at this level, in deed and thought.

It's a classic Jenkins signing. A steady eddy who won't let you down but won't pull up trees.

Jack seems like a manufactured player, the gut instinct and natural ability lack at the top end, it's why he was great at burnley but never got close at chelsea, was great at southampton in the championship but surplus once reaching the prem league.

I like him and think he can contribute but he will never be good enough to control or dictate a game in the prem league, he is a back up and squad player only, he is probably doing his best however and should get support from us.

4th choice at Southampton but Swansea captain tells you everything about how badly we have been run the last 2 yrs...and most of us saw it too.
We have far too many 20 minute players or "squad player only" types held up as first teamers.

Barrow
Routs
Britton
Cork
Rangel
Naughton
Fulton
Taylor
Mawson
Dyer
Fer
Montero
Ki

All would be other teams reserves, but a lot of these players are mainstay for our first XI !
Once you remove too many top players and don't replace the qaulity balance is tipped and down you go.

Nearly all have watched this car crash happen over the last 18 months, ultimately what we see on the field now is a bargin basement team thats trying but just lacks the required level of ability to operate in this league.

No point in blaming the players , a good coach could and did get a bit more from them, a bad coach will expose them even more, and that's exactly what Umm bob is doing.

I believe this as well

Not only for his defending Ash is sorely missed as the leader.

I dunno, at this level on 20-60k a week there should be 11 leaders on the field, its not like they don't know their jobs , they are alleged top of the tree professionals.

Ash had more sulks as captain than most players, what he did do was his job, very well.
In that respect he led by example, but im sure FF knows there is a tackle to be won but is just too flakey to go and win it.

Its the selling off of quality and not replacing it more than leadership IMO.

We are a team of reserves not first teamers, most lack the mental toughness to succeed at this level, the erosion of quality over 2 yrs is our problem.

I guess you could say leaders to the following, for me they are just qaulity players.

Michu
Chico
Bony
JDG
Ash
Ayew
Siggy

No idea of the possibility but Schneiders would be my number 1 choice.

I would like to see Arteta in the frame.

Another would be Davies.

Another would be Jordan Ayew.

Apologies to derail.

Fulton and Siggy are playing well.

The most successful United sides under Ferguson always had two or three of those types playing regularly; the guys that would run their hearts out without making waves, they were just there to help the match-winners play. Kept it simple, knew their jobs.

Put 11 of them together and they don't know how to win a football match. They don't have the skillset. I like Cork, as you say he's a good pro, but he's not got the quality to run a game, and he's been asked to do so too often over the past year.

Some of our senior players don't stand out in u23s fixtures.

Totally agree.

We have a team of them bar maybe 1 or 2.
We could all see this unfolding too, thats the really annoying thing for me. Smart investment just to maintain 4/5 top level players that the others under pin.
It aint hard!!

Arteta's retired. You might still prefer him though which says a lot about what we've got!
