Let me get this straight, our new manager presents himself to the worlds media on his tod, no representatives there from the club. Not in our stadium but in a room in a hotel with the Sunday carvery menu visible on the wall and what looks like a curtain covering the desk. Then when things could not be anymore pathetic, Guido rocks up there looking happy confused and frantic while waving at people like an uncle at a wedding. If you don't laugh, you'll cry.

But that's because people thought of him as their grandad or that nice old chap who lives down the road. Constantly commenting on his health like you would a retired former colleague after seeing him in tescos, rather than treating him like a football manager a similar age to Sam Allardyce, Pelligrini, 7 years younger than Neil Warnock, few years older than Steve Bruce etc.
Conversely, people are willing Garry Monk to fail at Leeds, despite his excellent service to the club for 11.5 years.

Most American''s first language is English whereas it is not the case with Italians. Many outside of the tourist trade don't speak it at all. You have used this many times and it is one very weak stick to beat FG with.

Bizarre and tragi-comic, it reminds me of two other similar stories.
1. Bill Shankley, the genius manager who raised LFC from mediocrity to greatness, could not, once retired, stay away from the club. Bored and irritable at home, he would turn up, unwelcome and a source of embarrassment, at the training ground, unable to let go. Obviously, the Guidolin incident was purely accidental, which gives it more of a grim comical aspect.
2. Some five years after being edged out of the band he founded (Pink Floyd), Syd Barratt, mentally wrecked by LSD abuse, appeared in the studio where his erstwhile band were recording the album "Dark Side of the Moon"...but none of the band members recognized him. They just saw a bloated, bald bloke fiddling about with their equipment in the corner. Someone did eventually recognize him, but no sense could be got out of him. Ironically, much of the stuff they were recording was about this very bloke's mental disintegration.
One thing's for sure: I'll never be able to listen to "Wish You Were Here" again without Francesco Guidolin's tortured visage appearing before me!

I'm disappointed with only two down arrows. But I'm still touched at the loyalty inspired by a man who managed Swansea City for what, a couple of dozen league games. And most of them weren't very good. You're all touchingly sentimental young boobies.

I don't think sentimentality comes into it. He saved us from the drop last season (along with his team and Curt was one of them). This season he has struggled with a poor and late transfer window and just as he is sorting to to turn the corner we turf him out after 7 games. The Marriott fiasco seems to be further evidence of incompetence from the club. It is very embarrassing and for me it is a final kick in the nuts for him. Perhaps nowadays it is wrong to expect common decency from the club I support but I think we have acted shamefully none the less. I suspect a few feel the same way but don't confuse that with weepy eyed sentimentality.
