Looks like we could start to hear some more news on this - maybe lead to announcing some signings, new kit, stadium expansion - or maybe we will hear bugger all

i'm merely saying it makes things tougher for us to compete. The transfer market will probably get even more ridiculous .

It'll make it harder for us to compete if we choose to get embroiled in the same agent led shitfest as most other clubs seem determined to do.

There's no reason why we can't find cheaper players of equal or greater value if we put the work in to do so and remain just as competitive in the league.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Be prepared for lots of sound bites from any new owners. They will initially be nice as pie and say all the right things. Then give it a short time and their feet are well under the table and everything will change.

Do these supposed people taking over care about the Swansea legacy or the money that they can make from the club. How long would it take them to make their money back. With the TV rights money a few years maybe. I know we are on a different stratosphere but look at what the Glaziers did to Man Utd. Paid themselves millions that was secured against the club.

Things will never be the same again.

We are the first Welsh club to reach the Premier League Simples

You're right I'm sure about short term measures to get people on side.

But why should they care more about the Swansea legacy than they do about the money they can make from the club?

The people that question needs to be directed at are the current owners not new ones.

Looking at this as a fan, because that's all I am (and setting aside all the considerations about what would I do if I had a financial stake), I cannot see the takeover making my club (because as a fan that's how I see the Swans) a better overall in the end. There isn't a lot more to it than that really.

My interests for the club and the new owners interests for the club are not the same. They are financially driven. It is a fundamental of their takeover. Mine have no financial drivers at all. That's never going to end well.

They have zero loyalty, emotional interest in the club. I am fundamentally entwined on a deep rooted emotional level with the club, which no outsider will account for.

Once they take over (far more so than now, however much the current board are being criticised for their role in ongoing proceedings) it will be them, and us, and there will be no going back. None. Them and us.

I've no doubt it'll impact negatively on my connection to the club and ultimately I'll care that little bit (or maybe a lot) less.

'They' won't give a fck about any of this. I will.

Victims of our own success was never more apt!

Oh,..Dave, what's occuring?

Funnily enough though it's that treatment which makes me less bothered about the takeover.

I would have preferred things as they were but the status quo has long gone, so if the worst we end up with is owners that don't respect the Trust and have an overriding concern for how much money they can make then I can't see too much difference. Cynical I'm sure, but I don't see much difference in the way we are treated as supporters and any other club these days.

I hope when all this is over that the trust will publish notes of the behaviour of named (current Board) individuals so that they can be fully held to account by the fanbase they have always purported to represent in their by the fans for the fans bullshit.

Someone used the analogy of animal farm at one point. That's how it feels. The Board of course, are the pigs, and the fans that bought into the bullshit and helped make it happen, are basically Boxer.

So what if it does.
Michu £2million
Vardy was offered at £850, 000
Fab free as was Andre (yes their wages are probably high, but wages are high when there is a fee as well.)
Chico, Pablo, JDG, Kingsley, Angel, Ash, Neil, Jeff, Mo, Shelvey, Ki all quite cheap, if you consider around or less than £5 million cheap.
And we flogged the dead horse, sorry Shelvey for a profit anyway

The players are out there and with a decent scouting system or letting the manager who has plenty of contacts give a shopping list and go get them.
Sort the scouting system.
Sort the commercial department out and raise more cash.
Employ the best people for the job, even if they cost a few grand a year more (use high bonuses instead,) and get rid of the "jobs for the boys" culture altogether. Unless they are the very best for the job.

I understand the board want to ensure their family are sorted for life financially.
Once they sell up, the Yanks should be looking to replace them asap, again, unless they are the best person for the job.
Let's have some truth and openness though from the sell outs

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

Why would anyone with money buy the swans, a home grown club with mainly local fans, I will tell you why. Instigated by our sell out directors who can only see the £ signs. Complete and utter greed and no loyalty to the swans.

I was still sort of thinking that the implied threat of exposure of their shenanigans might be the only real lever outside any company law provisions that the Trust might have. But if not, yeah I suppose they could chuck the mud in a hearts and minds PR shitfest now. If they care though, the threat is more powerful than the reality.

Best post yet and is exactly has it is.

Current owners = the yanks

Both trying to line their pockets.

But the yanks prepared to take a loss and put their own money in which no
Current shareholder does, they are just taking the dividends which are more yearly than their
total ever investment.

Current owners looking at 100xs profit on investment, greedy bar stewards.

What really galls me is all the cushty little jobs they'll all be keeping/getting after this is all over.

Sold the club down the river to make a few quid yet will still be earning a tidy income from it, whilst no doubt watching us for free from the best seats.

I couldn't agree with Monmouth any more if I tried. Don't even blame the current owners as mch as some on here, I can't pretend I wouldn't be tempted to sell if it was going to set my family up for life.

Regardless of that though, when this deal goes through, the little bit of the club that makes us special will die.

As an irrelevant footnote, although I don't blame them for cashing in, I think the decision to broadcast JTAK the other week was fcking crass.

It changed the moment the board decided to award dividend!

Full stop! end of story, the Trust ( I am a member) should have voiced their disagreement over the award ( apologies if they did) At that precise moment the nature of the club changed and it became a cash cow, it matters not a jot if the milkers are local or far afield. Money was taken out of the club!

I expect pelters for this but what the heck, I will always follow my club ( went in 1974 for the first time) but I will no longer use my money to support it as it has simply lost its heart and its meaning
For some to think that other people should always be treated as heroes, I hope they are right but from where I stand the only sound that will be heard in a few years time is the sound of the penny dropping

The Trust also benefited from the dividend. To be honest I had no problems with people getting a nice return on the work that they did over the period up until those dividends were paid. They'd earned those as far as I was concerned.

What we've seen lately is those supposed "by the fans, for the fans" principles that we were apparently run by kicked to the curb with all alacrity as soon as a whacking great profit raised it's ugly head.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

However it pans out, I think we'd be insane to wish to break all links. I'd be happy for Jenkins to continue to front it even if it turns out he's acted the c***. Why? Well otherwise the Yanks that know nothing will appoint their own and that way lies Newcastle, Sunderland and Villa.

And you could argue United and Liverpool too come to that, who have been woefully mismanaged by know nothings and tossers like Ayre and Woodward as their henchmen and only aren't doing much worse because of the sheer amount of money they've been able to chuck at it.

Nope. Jenkins and probably Dineen (not commercial) should stay, much as I think it will stick in my gullet. I'd like to see Morgan stay on the board too. The simpleton Van Zwed should be made to buy his own season ticket and sit in the east. Brag about that on twitter STID.
