Those of us who were rather cynical and lacking in humanity about allowing in mass Syrian refuges without much control now could be forgiven for thinking, How the feck do we (country-) be so dumb.
Bombers have openly admitted getting to us via this influx.

How many Syrians has the UK openly let in to date?
What bombers have openly admitted this and where have they bombed?
Evidence is surely the first criteria before making such rash comments.

Apart from the rather inconvenient fact that no one on here said that we should allow mass Syrian immigration without much control.

Frankly, pacemaker I find that comment of you re astonishing.
IS have openly admitted they have come in via Greece as refugees.
They is also clear evidence from eye witnesses that it has been impossible to check them all ergo we really do not know who is exactly is a genuine refugee or not.
Rash is a word to describe our naievity in allowing this influx
I wonder if the liberal minded citizens of Munich, who cheered them at the railway station, fully understood the whole circumstances which seem to be killers hiding behind the skirts of refugees.
We face a massive problem and sometimes our "goodness" and humanity can kill us literally.
Its a heavy price to pay.
I d rather be hammered for being a heartless coont for refusing them into the EU ,THAN TO HAVE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE KILLED AND BLOWN TO PIECES

Maybe not on here - but many have and still are. Only the other week anarchists rioted at Waterloo train station demanding unrestricted moment of people across borders.

I was talking to someone very high up in the military on Saturday and he said much the same as you.
What exactly does 'close the borders' even mean?
No one in or out? What about me going on holiday? Is that OK? What about the Wales team going to France 2016? Are they allowed out and in?
So if that's OK, who is it that the borders are closed to exactly? Everyone apart from British citizens? Well that's not much good then since most of those that will attack us are British. So perhaps we need some rules?
What about white people in and out only? Better find a new centre half for the Euros then as Ash is buggered.
What about just Moslems being stopped? What about the heart surgeon that needs to fly back into the country to save a member of your family? Is he allowed to travel?
Seriously - if someone 'very high up' in the military thinks such nonsense is viable we need to rethink who we are promoting.
The point about France saying it is all about the Schengen agreement - no border checks from other Schengen countries (everyone in the EU other than us and Ireland) plus some others. We are not part of it. It's a shame that someone 'very high up' in the military doesn't realise that.

Oh they will riot about anything.
They are the same idiots that riot about capitalism while arranging their riots on the latest device issued by the Apple Corporation.
No one serious is saying it.

It's been a free for all for years.....remind me how many illegals we have in this country at the moment.....nothing controlled about that.
That is a different matter and one that I agree with you about. The shocking abuse of the system by so called 'educational establishments' in particular is appalling.
That's not the situation with the Syrian refugees though.

So with the "controls" in place then, are you saying 100% that none of these Syrians entering the UK will definitely not carry out a terrorist attack ????????.

You know very well what I was saying....so please don't try to be the smart arse, it's not an attractive quality....it really isn't. The person I was speaking to was alluding to the fact that we are an island, although he did also say that a little more border control might be a good idea.
As far as discussing your holidays, well! funnily that conversation never cropped up, the person is also is highly decorated for bravery in action, and is an expert on security matters. But if I speak to him again I'll relate your thoughts, as it does seem that you pertain to be the font of knowledge on these matters.

No, I genuinely don't.
There is a difference between tighter border checks (which make total sense in a heightened security situation) and 'closing the borders' which is what you said that your military friend had agreed with.
A few people have said it - I am intrigued to know exactly what it is that they are proposing since it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. And if the person is highly decorated for bravery in action - that's great, and if I saw him I would thank him from the bottom of my heart, but that is not relevant here. The bit about him being a security expert is very relevant, but you've now explained that he didn't actually agree that we should shut the borders, but rather that we should be thankful that our borders are easier to control than most, and that makes perfect sense.
And I'm not pertaining to be the font of anything, nor am I trying to be a smart arse.

Rash ?
But you referred to us the UK.
Where is the influx?
Those arriving today have arrived from camps in the Middle East not from Europe. They have been screened and are families rather than illegal immigrants in groups of men.
Life is an adventure or nothing at all.

No of course not.
But I genuinely believe that the ONLY way we can eventually stop this is if we show the ordinary Moslem population that we are not the evil monsters that IS try to persuade them that we are, that we don't 'hate' Moslems, just the terrorists, and that our humanity extends to all races and religions.
Reacting to their extreme inhumanity (IS) by becoming less human ourselves, will create (in my opinion) far more danger of an us and them situation which will lead to more radicalisation of the Moslem population who are already here and ultimately put us at greater risk.
I don't incidentally say this lightly. With respect, I live with a far greater daily threat of being blown up or shot than you do. They are pretty unlikely to target rural Herefordshire, or even Swansea for that matter. I have had to get on the tube into central London today and it is bloody frightening.

"I was talking to someone very high up in the military on Saturday and he said much the same as you" The above is what I wrote in response to Bony suggesting that the "borders be closed" As you well know "much the same" is different from exactly the same. So maybe you need to be having this conversation with Bony rather than I.
