Cover Versions - OT 13:42 - Oct 14 with 96274 viewsCroydonCaptJack

Well, these music threads are much less depressing than the QPR ones at the moments so here is a link to an interesting article from the BBC site. A few surprises there but more importantly what is your best cover version.

For me it is Respect by Adeva

I have heard that Impedance version before on one of those 'Warehouse Raves' compilations. It is like a slowed down version isn't it.

This video is strictly speaking a collaboration but you get the idea - SRV's album and live version was perfect.

Always liked that Creedence cover Bri. When I happen to sing it randomly in the car, shower or whatever, it's usually the Creedence version I'm poorly recreating.

Ya, it's cracking. isn't it? I'm not one for guitar solos but that's measured and spare playing, and I never get bored of it.

yes it was John Kongos who did the original. Here's one that is a constant source of argument in the family as it's the only version I grew up with but my son is convinced The Beatles version is the better known one - he wasn't even there to know

and I like the original and the cover of this

Can't believe I'm the first to come up with 'All Along the Watchtower' by Hendrix.
Haven't bothered with a link 'cos if you haven't heard it you must be living in a cave.
Neil Young does a pretty good version too. Sort of a version of Hendrix' version.

Strong and stable my arse.

Love this one because it brought a relatively obscure but excellent band to a larger new world market, and because it kicks ass
