Garry Monk has confirmed he has spoken to Alan, who admits his playing days are over.

Unclear what position he will now have at the club. (Just in case anyone is interested).

Playing days over for us, or totally? Unless he's injured I can't believe the latter is true, he's 32, and had never had any pace to rely on, so he could surely carry on at League One level say for 4-5 years?

As much as I'd like to see Tate back here someday, we don't owe him a living and at 32, he could still be getting football elsewhere, time not to be precious and get him off the wage bill.
