Does Loanee's Social Media Account Indicate His Time At Southampton Is Soon To Be Up
Lesley Ugogochukwu's loan spell at Southampton from Chelsea has not turned out the way either the club or the player had hoped, now it seems that he has wiped all references to Saints from his instagram page after his omission from the squad at Brighton.
Lesley Ugochukwu must have felt that he had a good chance of starting at Brighton, although he has only started 2 Premier League games for Southampton, the last of which saw him being taken off at half time at Bournemouth back in September, he has also made 4 appearances off the bench, 3 of them in the last 4 games, including 38 minutes against Liverpool last time out.
But despite Russell Martin being without a number of midfield options for the trip to The Amex, Ugochukwu was not even on the bench and no reason was given for his absence.
Now The Mail Online has reported that the 20 year old midfielder has deleted all mention of Southampton from his instagram account.
His bio tags Chelsea, while all of his photos are either him playing for the London club or France, with some other personal shots added in, but now nothing about Southampton.
This suggests that some sort of disagreement has taken place which has resulted in his axing from the 20 man squad for the game at Brighton.
In his 9 man bench Russell Martin had just 1 midfielder in Joe Aribo to call upon, yet he had 2 central defenders on hand, plus James Bree who can also play there, 3 wide men in Ryan Fraser, Sam Amo - Ameyaw & Sulemana and an attacker in Ben Brereton Diaz, in what was a very unbalanced bench in terms of who positional options.
Charlie Taylor was also missing, assuming that he wasn't injured, his ability to play in several roles would surely have been a good option to bring in balance.
So what happens next, you would think that Saints would be keen to sent back Ugochukwu to Stamford Bridge and Maxwel Cornet to West ham, however that might not be as easy as it sounds, it is reliant on the parent clubs taking him back, something that they might not be keen to do unless they have another club who is willing to take them on and that might not be so easy given their lack of game time.

Leeds drawn at home to Harrogate in the FA CupTonight’s draw for the third round of the FA Cup threw up several local derbies, and the most enticing of all must be our all-Yorkshire clash with Harrogate Town, with the two clubs being only 15 miles apart.
Disappointing Leeds go down at BlackburnOur defeat to Blackburn Rovers has caused plenty of moaning on social media, while Daniel Farke has blamed our hectic fixture schedule. But it was a shame the team picked the game with our biggest travelling support of the season to serve up one of their worst away performances.
Blackburn AwaydazeThis season’s trip to Blackburn Rovers is tomorrow with kick-off at 1.30, provided the pitch has dried out enough after last week’s postponement. Once again it looks like we’ll be taking the biggest away following in the Championship this season.
Farke sees room for improvement despite victoryLeeds duly went back to the top of the table with a fairly routine victory over Luton Town, but Daniel Farke thought the win should have been even more emphatic when he spoke to the BBC after the game.
Leeds fighting spirit wins through as we beat Swansea to go topLeeds were twice behind in this incredible game at Swansea City, and then seemed to have victory snatched away right at the death. But each time we fought back and our sheer determination finally secured the victory that we needed to finish the weekend on top of the Championship.
Swansea AwaydazeOur visit to Swansea City is on Sunday with a 3pm kick-off, and once again we’re being televised live on Sky Sports, which will be handy for those of us who can’t get to South Wales on a Sunday.
Farke complains bitterly about Firpo suspensionWe had a surprise yesterday morning, as we found out that that Junior Firpo had been given a three match suspension as a result of an incident in the match at Millwall. Our manager has complained about the short notice when he was preparing his team to face QPR, and about the FA’s process itself.
Leeds labour to victory over stubborn QPRWe made hard work of winning this game, but we finally put the match beyond Queens Park Rangers with a second goal deep into injury time, sending the visitors to the bottom of the table.
Farke happy with the performance despite defeatDaniel Farke has claimed that his team were excellent last night, but many others disagree, after we failed to get past an organised defence yet again, and Millwall were able to hang on to all three points.
Millwall AwaydazeOn Wednesday night we can once again look forward to another fun-packed visit to Millwall on Sunday with kick off at 7.45. You’ll find the New Den in a really pleasant part of South-East London, but if you’re not heading this way, there is always the option of watching the game live on Sky Sports plus.
