Saints Switch Attention To Belgium International Midfielder

Ok he has only won one cap for Belgium so far, but having just turned 22 Mandela Keita already has 83 Jupiler League, plus European competition games, the defensive midfielder seems to be on Southampton's radar.

According to sportwitness.co.uk Saints have made an offer for Royal Antwerp's Mandela Keita.

They say that Leicester City were also interested in the Belgium International a few weeks ago but have cooled their interest.

They also report that Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports Southampton have made an offer to Royal Antwerp and that offer consisted of a loan for the rest of the season and a purchase clause which would be mandatory under certain conditions., one of which is believed to be Saints remaining in the Premier League.

Royal Antwerp have turned down the opening offer, but it is said that the two clubs are not far short of each others demands and that Royal Antwerp are open to negotiations.
