Manchester City Defender Tipped For Southampton Signing On Thursday
It looks like Jason Wilcox is once again going to use his Manchester City contacts and another academy youngster from the Etihad could well be making St Mary's his home, but this one has experience.
The man in question who according to insidefutbol.com could be signing on the dotted line on Thursday is central defender Taylor Harwood Bellis.
The 21 year old was mentioned as a Saints target earlier in the summer, but the trail went quiet, but it seems that it could be now about to happen.
Haywood Bllis who will turn 22 in January has a bit more experience than most of those we have signed from City, he has had several loan moves including Blackburn, Anderlecht, Stoke and last season Burnley where he made 32 appearances in their promotion winning side.
In total he has played 73 games in the Championship plus 16 in the Jupilo League In Belgium, at City he is yet to make a League appearances, but he has played several games in various cup competitions.
Saints apparently contacted City today (Wednesday) and are hoping to get the deal done on Thursday.
Presumably if Haywood-Bllis is signed it would spell the end of our interest in Nathan Wood at Russell Martin's old club Swansea City.
