Saints Reach Agreement With Tottenham Hotspur

Twist number 143 to the Pierre Emile Hojbjerg transfer to Spurs saga has been reported in the press today with media close to the North London club suggesting that a £25 million fee has been agreed.

The departure of Pierre Emile Hojbjerg has dragged on since the end of January and here we are six months later seemingly no nearer an ending with the player expressing a wish to join Spurs and Daniel Levy of that club using that as leverage to try and force the price down for what is after all Spurs "Number One Transfer Target" a player rates so highly that they are willing to pay ever so slightly more than a player they are trying to sell after starting only 9 league games for them.

But if the latest media reports are about to be believed, Spurs are starting to wake up and smell the coffee.

Alex Crook Of Talksport is tweeting to say the deal has been done and that Spurs are willing to stump up £25 million in total, although that price being reached will be the subject of several add ons.

Crook Tweeted.

#THFC have had a bid accepted by #SaintsFC for Pierre-Emile Hojberg. Believe the package is worth £25m with various add ons. Expecting this one to move quickly now.

This story is being repeated across the London media close to Spurs and if true the end of the saga could be near.

Hojnbjerg has been a marmite player to the Saints supporters , most though agree he is a competent Premier League player, but even his biggest fans would not feel he is good enough to be Spurs Number One target, if he is then there are troubled times ahead for the North London Yobbos, their supporters who are demanding Champions League football year in year out and are already up in arms about missing out this year, could face further disappointment and feel some protesting coming on.

So it looks like Spurs will pay an initial fee of somewhere between £15- 20 million and that will be topped up by increases should he play a set number of games as well as win a trophy, so we will not hold our breaths on getting paid out on the last one.

But it will be good to get some transfer money in and hopefully use some of it on Kyle Walker Peters as well as a couple of other areas on the pitch.

If the fee is as stated then that is a fair deal for the player.

Farke Seeks Improvement Despite Comfortable Win in the Fog
Even though we went back to the top of the table Daniel Farke thought we should have won more comfortably, but we were more than good enough to beat a woeful Stoke City. For the third time in 2024 a Leeds win cost an opposing manager his job, after Narcis Pelach was called in to collect his P45 yesterday morning.
