LFW Pub Guide - The Goldhawk

Once the greatest pre-match boozer in the world ever, The Goldhawk is now another up market, trendy bar for Shepherds Bush.

Name of pub: The Goldhawk

Location: Halfway along Goldhawk Road, five minutes walk from Goldhawk Road tube.

Size: Large.

Selection of beers? usual suspects plus a few trendy foreign lagers and ciders.

Price of drinks? Extortionate.

How full does it get on a matchday? Pretty busy, particularly after games.

How fit are the bar staff? Standard, and bloody slow.

How long does it take to walk to the ground from there? Ten minutes.

Sky Sports/ESPN? No.

Suitable for away fans? Never seen any in there but I don’t see any problem with sensible ones.

Suitable for families and kids? Yes, although it does get busy.

What's the smoking situation? Wooden terrace with tables out the front.

Beer garden? As above.

As far as pub toilets go, just how bad are these? They’re decent.

Does it serve food and is it any good? Yes, it’s above average modern day pub grub at stupid prices.

Trendy modern bar, traditional pub or somewhere in between? Somewhere in between.

In one sentence why should people visit/steer clear of this pub? It’s quite a pleasant place. But you should stay away out of principal because the refit wrecked a classic QPR pub, the service is stupidly slow and the prices are daft even for London.

Any other business? In the time it takes you to get served here Mark Lazarus could have signed, played, left, signed and played for QPR.
