As one Kenny packs his bags will another be coming in?

With Ken Bates expected to sell his shares at Elland Road any day, Leeds apparently will not be Kenny-less for very long.

The Paddy Kenny link has resurfaced and Leeds are apparently locked- in- talks with QPR for the signature of the 34-year-old stopper who has played under Neil Warnock for much of his career.

However with the takeover at an advanced but still delicate stage, Leeds will need to raise a fee reportedly £500,000 to bring Halifax- born Kenny back to Yorkshire.

Ipswich are also monitoring the situation, but they seem to be linked with every player we supposedly want.

One source reports that Kenny has vacated his rented house in the capital, a clear indicator he knows his days in London are up following the arrival of Robert Green from West Ham.

I do not necessarily think goalkeeper was our weakest position last year, until Andy Lonergan was injured ironically. There is no doubting Kenny's ability but I don't think he and he alone will improve the squad dramatically to push us that far up the table and he is six years older than Lonergan.

But Warnock is the man at the helm and our biggest concern has got to be can the takeover go through in time for July 11th when he wants to start his pre-season programme with his new men on board. Depending on which report you read, the takeover will be complete anytime between the next 48 hours or fortnight!

Lonergan meanwhile has been strongly tipped to join newly- relegated Bolton Wanderers.

Leeds get back on track against woeful Cardiff
After last week’s defeat, Daniel Farke must have been thankful that the fixture list gave us the division’s bottom team as our next opponents. But although we got the win we needed, it was against a desperately poor Cardiff City who had to play with ten men for over an hour, and somehow it felt strangely unconvincing.
Cardiff Awaydaze
This season’s visit to Cardiff City is on Saturday with a 3pm kick-off, and you’ll find their current stadium to the west of the city centre, only a quarter of a mile from their former home at Ninian Park.
Leeds suffer frustrating defeat at the hands of Burnley
Once again Leeds dominated the possession but couldn’t find their way past a determined and well-organised defence. So it was Burnley who took the points after taking advantage of one of the few occasions when they were able to break downfield.
Leeds pay tribute to former captain Sol Bamba
Sol Bamba passed away on Saturday at the tragically early age of 39. The tribute on the club’s official website was one of many, as the football world paid it’s respects to a defender who was highly regarded by everyone in the game who came into contact with him.
Patient Leeds overcome Hull with strong second half performance
At half-time this game was well and truly in the balance, and Hull City had enjoyed some moments in the first half. But once Leeds had opened the scoring in the second they had no response, and it was comfortable for Leeds in the end.
