LFW Pub Guide - The Green Room

Previously the best kept secret in the Bush, discovered by hundreds of R’s after the last game of the season and now likely to be more busy.

Name of pub: The Green Room

Location: Hiding behind the Tesco Metro on Goldhawk Road, next to the tube station on the right as you walk towards the green.

Size: Mahusive.

Selection of beers? Middling. No hand pumps or real ales but a wide selection of lagers both bottled and pulled, ciders and all the usuals.

Price of drinks? Standard Shepherds Bush rip off.

How full does it get on a matchday? It doesn't, or at least it didn't.

How fit are the bar staff? Same couple of blokes and young lass working the bar most Saturdays, always friendly and chatty and keen to know how the R's are getting on.

How long does it take to walk to the ground from there? 15 minute walk through the market.

Sky Sports/ESPN? Both on the biggest screen known to man, although during the Six Nations and when Australia are playing rugby the place is suddenly invaded by hundreds of Barbour jacketed arseholes, fake Paddys and Aussies and the regulars are shunted off to the side.

Suitable for away fans? Has been home fans only for high profile games, this policy may be more regularly enforced now we're in the Prem.

Suitable for families and kids? Yes

What's the smoking situation? There is a courtyard with tables and chairs out the front.

Beer garden? Like I say, courtyard out the front.

As far as pub toilets go, just how bad are these? They're actually very good.

Does it serve food and is it any good? Standard American diner style burger menu, it's not too bad and the service is usually quick.

Trendy modern bar, traditional pub or somewhere in between? More modern sports bar type place.

In one sentence why should people visit/steer clear of this pub? The Bush's best kept secret, but keep away I like having it to myself.

Any other business? One can't help but think that having hosted the best impromptu post-Leeds piss up in the Bush that this one may suddenly be a lot more popular come August.
