Grayson forced to watch his loan-targets in action for parent clubs?

The officia LUFC website report that "frustrated" Simon Grayson has been thwarted at bringing in new loan signings because of the injuries and suspensions in the Premiership.

Grayson revealed today that deals had been lined-up to bring Premiership talent to Elland Road in order to boost our flagging promotion bids.

However the Leeds manager echoed similar views expressed by United chairman Ken Bates, that Premiership clubs are keeping hold of the fringe men Grayson desired just in-case their absentee list worsens.

This mornings Yorkshire Post names FOUR possible loan targets who, for now at least, are staying put. Manchester City midfielder and self-confessed Leeds fan Michael Johnson, Jordan Mutch (Birmingham), Barry Bannan (Aston Villa) and Keith Southern of Blackpool, who Leeds were believed to have tried to sign during the January transfer-window.

It is barely a cast of household names but knowing Larry, he will have watched his targets with almost obsessive compulsion, before deciding whether or not they are an improvement on the players he has at his disposal here.

To be fair, we seem to be signing players surplus to the Premiership these days rather than make the mistake of signing rejects from lesser Championship clubs.
