Some £25 Tickets Still Available As Brentford Game Heads For Sell Out
Wednesday, 7th Sep 2022 10:30

With three days still to go till the game against Brentford at St Mary's, there are still some Adult tickets left for £25, even £20 if you take a kid with you in the family centre, but you will need to move fast there aren't many left.

Saints reasonable start to a season for a change aligned with some astute signings in the transfer window has led to a surge in optimism in the Saints supporters base and it has also see some returning for the first time since Covid.

That means that there are only around 1,000 seats left in the general seated areas as of Wednesday morning and if usual selling patterns before a game follow in the next few days, these will be snapped up.

Ticket prices for this fixture can be as high as £45 in the best seats in the centre of the stands, but that only accounts for about 30% of the remaining seats, perhaps showing that in the Kingsland Centre where the majority of the £45 seats are that the club has perhaps got the pricing a little higher than it should be.

But in other areas of the ground it is cheaper, as this is a category D game, in the family centre an adult ticket is only £20 for this game with under 18 tickets only £20.

But for those wanting to go in other areas there are still 200 or so at £25 and perhaps 250 at £30.

To put the £25 tickets in perspective, this is only £1 more than you would have paid to watch Pompey play Peterborough last weekend in League 1.

Yes the club have put prices up in some areas as I have mentioned, but they have also reduced them in others over the past couple of seasons and put in place a competitive pricing structure to enable those who cannot afford to go regularly to be able to when some of the less attractive opposition is in town.

It seems the supporter base has responded to this, for this fixture last season, which in fairness was a night game and did not have a full away supporter allocation due to there being no train service back to London after the match, was only 27,383, one of the lowest crowds of the season, with Brentford selling out their full allocation that has already been surpassed, so it looks like being another packed St Mary's with hopefully the same atmosphere we saw against Chelsea.
