For a start you misrepresent me - I was quoting you. Of course God existed , he was ever present before creation. Christianity didn’t begin until Christ’s time of course but to it is not an alien religion compared to what it superseded.
Christian was the name first attributed to the Apostles and followers of Christ in Antioch in the first century . It was the continuation of the faith of Abraham Isaac and Jacob which Christ came to affirm but he came also to negate the oral laws of the Pharisees and Sadducee’s (Talmud) which in the Gospels he rails against. The Talmud first came into being during the exile and its tenets fundamentally alter the laws or create new ones which came from rhe influence of the Babylonian culture which they had to coexist.
Orthodox Christianity to this days upholds this tradition - the services are the continuation of Temple Liturgical worship (with iconography, incense , menorahs on the altar etc ) but the sacrifice is not a goat/bull or whatever but the offering is bread and wine.
I like the way that you see it as a system of control - control as in “don’t kill each other” , “don’t sleep with someone else’s spouse” “don’t steal” - you obviously mean something else - can you elucidate that for me? I would have thought the command to “love one another “ wouldn’t be seen as some nefarious and negative control system!
Also you go on to claim the the God of the OT and NT is new and somehow invented but bang on about the integrity of “Judaism” - (that term is actually younger than Christianity by a good century or so and refers completely to the Talmudic interpretation of the Torah which is false as is Kabbalah). The modern day (from the period after the first centuries of Christianity) faith of Judaism even changed the translation of the Septuagint to EXCLUDE messianic texts that were attributed to the coming of the messiah in the foretold time (the period before the destruction of the second temple ) and in its stead the Jewish mystics have announced more than one messiah (Shabbatai Zevi being one in the 1600’s) and Jews to this day need to rebuild the temple to usher in the one they regard as Mossiach but which the book of Revelation describes as Antichrist. And when you look at the Middle East today you can see they’re trying to do exactly that - there’s even film on you tube of Rabbi Schnerson (chabad founder) telling a younger Netanyahu to “do more to hasten his coming”. |

“Christianity didn’t even exist until 1st century” - no sh*t! Christ was crucified in 33 AD you’re on the money there. It couldn’t have existed before so I don’t know what point you’re making there.
The true church is the one that maintains the faith of the Apostles - Orthodox Christianity.
Even better than your first observation is that Christianity is merely an invention. Can you give me any proof or basis to your statement? Even though the Son was revealed several times in the Old Testament to Abraham,Moses ,Daniel and Isaiah to name a few as well as the messianic prophecies - maybe you don’t really understand the Old Testament? To understand the NT you have to understand the OT.
“Odin and Thor have as much legitimacy as the Christian God”. Are you sugggesting the Christian God is not the same as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?
I avoided saying the Jewish god because Judaism in its modern guise is definitely not the faith of the Patriarchs - more a modern invention fabricated to oppose Christianity |

Roman Catholicism got it BADLY wrong - Priests in the Orthodox Church can be either married or Monks, Romes decision to unilaterally impose chastity on anyone with a spiritual leaning has led to this horrible culture within the Catholic Church which your poor relative was a victim of. Not the only “innovation” of Theology Rome unilaterally declared - some were far more damaging.
Christian Theology is based on the world being in a sinful fallen state. Those nuns in the Magdalen houses mistreated people because they were judging them which they had NO right to do. While the world is in a fallen state the church’s duty is to help the fallen get up again and guide them in the right direction - with LOVE , understanding and FORGIVENESS.Rome took a vastly different direction the the Eastern Churches whom it separated itself from and whilst the Easten Churches are spiritually vibrant the Roman Church has this darkness surrounding it.
OHL seems to be a victim of the Protestant condition - which is truly the Roman Catholic condition - a system of self hatred and perpetual hopelessness. That’s what bad theology does for people.

Is Russia carpet bombing Kiev,Lviv, ? Is it killing tens of thousands of civilians? No.
The Israelis are saying Terrorists are hiding in hospitals and in Lebanon they justify bombing residential areas because they say there are arms dumps hidden in apartment blocks. They also did the same in 1982.
When they summoned the courage to try to fight face to face in a full on ground invasion of Lebanon they came out with their tails between legs and hundreds of casualties. Hopefully that will deter another foray into another sovereign state. |

Really? You’re holding out Wilson as a prime example? Did you sleep through Covid , sending old folks with Covid into nursing homes, partygate, the awarding of millions in taxpayers money to their friends for PPE that was useless? I think that tops anything the Wilson government did by a country mile.
Oh and let’s not forget Matt Hancock thinking of a bogus new variant to threaten us with - a touch of class that was!
As for Starmer - he’s corrupt as hell. But never mind hospitality or clothes donations - how much money is a certain Middle Eastern country paying him for his complicity in their “military endeavours” both domestically and further afield? That’s the question that should be asked. |

We have more than a potential goal scorer on the bench who didn’t even make it on to the pitch yesterday. All because Williams tactics including the pedestrian midfield can’t provide quick enough forward ball for him. I’m amazed how some can write off a player considered good enough to play in the Euros after a manager with no tactical nous can’t be bothered to get the team playing to his (and Eom’s , Ronald’s and any other attacking players) strengths.
Perhaps with that approach we would kill teams off rather than settling for 60 minutes of biting nails. All of our players need to introduce a ruthlessness into their game. |
