Anyone at the club’s fans’ forum tonight?
at 04:59 12 Jul 2019

It was a good event. Cooper and Birch were both open, honest and engaging. There was an excellent rapport with the audience. Neither made a prepared speech. It was all q & a throughout. The fans there were positive and supportive.

For me the main points from the meeting were:

They don’t need to sell any more current young first team players for financial reasons - even if don’t offload borja & ayew. Dan’s sale was enough. However if very high end offer came in for anyone then they would sell.

There is no structural debt problem, just overheads/running costs, which is why they need to offload high ‘legacy’ wages. But even if they are not offloaded, the situation can be managed as is.

There were 80-90 manager applicants. Cooper from first conversations was the outstanding candidate.

Cooper this year wants young players to become real leaders on the pitch.

Both see the U16s; U18s and U23s and the academy as key for the future.

Cooper said he saw no reason why this season there could not be a push for promotion but they were not setting unealistic targets.

Trevor Birch the CEO has been given complete autonomy by the American owners to run the club.

Both Cooper and Birch said they see this club as tremendous development opportunity (rather than just being here to do a rescue job said Birch).

They are nearly ready to name the new head of recruitment.

Birch was thanked for the quality of his communications to date. He was also thanked for keeping Routledge. Birch and Cooper obviously rate Routledge for his playing and personal characteristics. Apparently his contributions off the pitch have been outstanding, as well as on.

They thought Routs, Dyer and Naughton had each been good older leaders for the younger players.

Cooper has not yet decided on his captain. He suggested he might want a younger player to assume the responsibility but is still considering the issue. The way they praised Routledge i wonder if they’ll make him club captain, though they didn’t say so.

They do as much due diligence of a person’s character as his footballing skill. They have a very good positive dressing room and don’t want to lose it. They are aware that the big names could disturb this if they are not offloaded and were reintroduced to the squad. They hope to avoid this happening by getting rid, but will see how events unfold...

I bought it last week to read the account of the match. While it had the score under that there was no account of the game but instead a series of 'talking points'. Complete waste of time (and money). That's the last time I buy the Evening Post for a report on a Swans game.

SSMC suing Swansea Council and Interserve Ltd over stadium defects
at 05:51 17 Aug 2018

The interesting thing here is that the stadium in now under the control of the Americans.

And at the first opportunity they take the Council to court to sue them over stuff that's over 12 years old...

Welcome to their American way...

Michael Laudrup questions why problems keep happening 'repeatedly' at Swansea
at 14:19 12 Jan 2018

When Laudrup was here he considered that, in spite of what was being spun at the time, there was no special approach being followed at the club, there was no magic formula, but that they had just been really lucky up to that point.

As ever, that man retains his dignity in the way he conducts himself.

Ticket Booking Fees changing
at 20:32 22 Dec 2017

So if this is about credit card charges, how does it relate to purchases made at the ticket office in cash, rather than using a card?

There used to be no ticket fee for that previously, did there?

Monk,Guidolin and now Clement

Laudrup considered that Jenkins had just been lucky up to that point. It looks like he was right and that the luck ran out for the club after he was sacked.

Men in Blazers podcast: Paul Clement interview

Well it shows how closely the BBC follow this site.

Rob Phillips of BBC Wales has just referred to this interview on the sports news - without acknowledging where they came across the interview of course...

Thanks all.

The Lucky Bar has assured me the game will be on and it's walking distance so I hope to be watching it there.

Also its title seems fitting...

(Then back home for the cold of the South stand next Saturday.)

Where's the best place to watch the Spurs game in DC? I'm there for a few days. Walter's Bar says it's the place for Swans supporters but that seems a long way out. Is there somewhere nearer Dupont Circle where people go?

Does anyone know if anyone has a photo of shelvey in Newcastle

Oh I hope there's nothing too demanding in the tests. As long as it's confined to taking a throw in and deliberately giving it to the opposition or standing still while opponent runs past you he should do fine.

Barrow played the whole game at Palace and ran them ragged down the right wing. He has earned his start.

The Liberty Stadium PA system
at 20:30 15 Aug 2015

PA system non existent in South East corner as far as could be judged. No speakers anywhere. Therefore no-one had any idea what was being announced at any stage. Were they taken down to accommodate the new screen and then forgot to replace them?

The Power Rangers were sat a few seats along my row. Surprised they could be seen from the pitch though as we were so high up,
