| News Comment | Salisu Not Fit Until October at 15:08:33
Reading between the lines, he may well have been the player that tested for Covid - he's been in none of the training gallery pictures on the website until the last couple of days |
| News Comment | Saints Are Like Brexit ! No One Truly Understands The Issues at 16:20:21
SaintsForeverJ is spot on. So much wrong with the club at the moment and so you have to start at the top with Gao. It's a complete shambles that he's on top of. I seriously wonder if his business/wealth is legit or if its all state funded and could disappear at any time. I also blame Kat for selling to him in the first place. Nick - you're also giving Ralph far too much credit and not enough blame. His team selection decisions are frankly baffling and Friday showed that the players are no longer buying into whatever his tactics are. Fair enough, his right hand man left (I am sure there is more behind as well) but he has to take responsibility for his team selections and performances. |
| News Comment | Cedric Likely To Return To St Mary's In The Summer at 14:22:43
He needs to be part of a big clear out in the summer along with hoedt, lemina, carillo, boufal, Austin, long, clasie (is he still here?) and forster- hopefully that will create some funds for a couple of players |
| News Comment | Saints At Cardiff The Preview at 12:35:52
Excited to see the positive impact Ralph will have. On another note though nick, i don’t understand what you see in hoedt- he is by far the weakest of our centre halves. I would try bednarek with either yosh or Vestergaard |
| News Comment | Saints V Burnley The Preview at 01:21:59
Agree with skipton on Lemina. Would pick Romeu ahead of him. Also would pick yosh ahead of Hoedt (clearly a better defender despite what this site thinks). Think he’ll go for Cédric or targett as well and have Moi on the bench. Feeling strangely optimistic about the new season. |
| News Comment | Vestergaard Signs For Saints at 16:38:56
Plus Yoshida seems to be a very popular member of the squad and good dressing-room guy with a ton of experience. Think Stephens will be the one to go - prob on loan to a top half championship team |
| News Comment | Vestergaard Signs For Saints at 16:37:23
I've never understood why you dislike Yoshida so much. A decent back-up and more reliable than Hoedt in my opinion. My defense would be Bertrand-Vestergaard-Bednarek with Targett at left wing back and either JWP or soares at right wing back |
| News Comment | Tadic Close To A Move To Ajax at 19:24:18
Good move in my opinion. Give Sims a chance to replace him. Maddison would have been ideal but I wonder whether they'll go for Grealish now |
| News Comment | Saints Tracking Red Bull Salzburg Star at 13:31:30
Agree with underweststand- this guy seems a much better fit than Wilshere who is far too injury prone. Guys like him, Lallana, Shaw and Darren Anderton back in the day are just too unreliable as they’re out half the time. Plus, I don’t even think Wilshere is that good |
| News Comment | Saints V Manchester City The Verdict at 11:40:15
They surely have to sign Hughes and need to do so quickly. You can just see what will happen now though- they’ll take their time, including no communication to the fans, about deciding on Hughes and then wait until July until appointing a journeyman manager from Europe. The root cause of this season were the puel and pellegrino appointments. I have no confidence that they are now going to make the correct decision- which would be to appoint sparky. |
| News Comment | Pellegrino Was A Coach ! Hughes Is A Manager ! at 15:46:30
Absolutely. Also it’s been refreshing to listen to our manager actually talk common sense rather than the last two clowns talking in vague circles all the time. |
| News Comment | Saints Said To Be Sacking Pellegrino ! But Not Now ! at 12:37:33
Potter would be a great appointment- his record in Sweden is incredible. Like the Fulham guy also. The fear though is they go for another journeyman yesman from Europe who’s committed to playing a defensive 4-2-3-1 no matter what. |
| News Comment | Time To Play Without Fear !!! at 16:43:34
Kri-saint- agree completely on that team. No chance of it happening though. Tadic seems to have something in his contract that he must start every game and MP is too negative to play both Gabbi and Carillo. In my opinion, The nonsensical notion that 4-2-3-1 is the only way to play and must be used by all our teams is constraining the whole club. Too inflexible and clearly isn’t working so why not change it. MP simply doesn’t have the ability or creativity to do it though. |
| News Comment | Saints V Crystal Palace The Verdict at 16:27:30
I can't believe the last two posts. Schatfield - what about the rest of the season for heaven's sake?!?! Nick - I've actually defended Reed in the past and the investment approach but at some point, he has to take accountability for the product on the field and the poor managerial decisions. Waiting to the end of the season to judge them is simply a recipe for disaster as the only question will be where do we finish - 18th, 19th or 20th. |
| News Comment | Saints V Crystal Palace The Verdict at 13:48:45
There is so much wrong with the club, it is wrong to blame any one person. BUT, if MP stays, we will be relegated. Simple as that. Why not make a change to give ourselves a chance. Let Kelvin have a crack. Anyone else. The guy is useless. And after not hearing anything for months, now Freddie decides its time to speak up and say the manager is doing a good job! He's backed himself into a corner now. Unbelievable. If the new owner is any good, he would also get rid of Kreuger and Reed for letting it come to this and enforcing a ridiculously rigid playing system on whoever the manager is (see Puel - obviously not a bad manager but completely constrained when he was here). Depressing but with the staus quo, there is only one outcome and it is relegation. Who knows what will happen then with an overpaid, unmotivated squad. 2005 all over again. |
| News Comment | Saints At Liverpool The Verdict at 19:05:43
also - why the comment about us lacking motivation in our first premier league season?! - I can't remember that being the case - certainly nothing as bad as it's been recently |
