What can I say, I scanned the channels on my Digital Radio (not internet radio which is restricted) and clicked on radio Wales. Not on FM or medium wave. And you must live in the Swansea area. |

I am astounded at the general crappiness of this channel.
In the good old days, you could watch EFL games as some kind of post prandial pleasure following MOTD on the BBC.
Now it is confined to some kind of joke channel which is summed up by the fact that the adverts consist of adverts for their own unattractive programming rather than say Fairy Liquid or those ferking meerkats.
For how many years did the EFL sell their soul to these cowboys?
To be fair, the actual show is ok and there is no Steve Claridge.

Agreed Phil. At his best when conditions were humid and he got the ball to move. Only medium pace but could be lethal with the new ball. I remember against Middlesex around 1969 first innings he had them 10-3 including Parfitt out for a duck until the sun broke through the clouds and they went on to make 400. |

I was by the Neath Road roundabout as the shouty Millwall fans came parading down the dual carriageway. All I saw was a group of Swansea small boys mincing down Neath Road to confront them. Given their age and demeanour I feared for them (the mincers) if they eventually met their opponents. |

For sure, I am enjoying this season in the Championship far more than I expected.
The general standard of football from most teams is of course worse, but this is compensated for by games being more open and exciting.
The refereeing standard is a lot lower though.
One thing I find is that there seems a lot less pressure on the team this season, certainly compared to say the last 3 seasons in the Premiership. Maybe it is because we are a lot better than many teams and are not involved in our annual relegation dog fight.
I doubt we would have been able to blood so many young and talented players if we had stayed up.
Happy to remain in the Championship for a few seasons while building a promotion challenging team. |
