I can say, hand on heart, I haven't felt this despondent about following the Swans since Petty. I suspect many might feel the same. It's all quite depressing & has an air of inevitability about it.
Not an Indian eatery, but can anyone remember Bob's Cafe at the back of the shitty arcade in Wind St? It was next door or next door but one to J T Morgans motorcycles & near the Duke pub (roughly where Walkabout is now).... late 70s early 80s. It was a real dive but Bob did the best burgers & hot-dogs around.
Corbyn spent his whole political career following the established left-wing position on the EU, vigorously campaigning against it with other notable lefties such as Tony Benn & Michael Foot. Only since he's become Labour leader has he appeared to have radically changed his opinions. Why is that? I dislike the "Left" with a passion, and George Galloway more so... but he pretty much nails it for the old guard lefties in Lexit - The Movie. It shows just how far removed the Labour party has drifted rightwards away from it's traditional support to become this sneering, middle-class elite...
This whole thing about "EU funding" is disingenuous bollocks anyway. The EU hasn't got any money of it's own... it's handed over to them by the taxpayers of the member states via their Governments. The UK is a massive net contributor and so pays in far, far more than it gets back.
So remember..... whenever you see or hear "funded by the EU" it really means funded by the UK taxpayer.
