| News Comment | Is Ryan Bertrand's Time Up at Southampton With Brentford Left Back Linked ! at 10:25:19
Every time I watch him these days I get the impression that he's a professional going about his business as best he can but that he's lost his love for football. Nothing to do with saints particularly I just think his fire's gone out. Not meant to be a criticism, he's the best left back I've ever seen in a saints shirt but sadly I think it's time for him to go, reputation fully intact. Incidentally I think you wrote more words praising Danny Fox than you've ever done about Ryan, I know some people get a weird pleasure out of blindly agreeing with you but you haven't always been the best judge of a player's ability. |
| News Comment | Could This Weekend Be The Start Of The Greatest Ever Season For Southampton FC at 11:13:44
Enjoyed the read, cheers. But I do wonder why you bother with social media regarding saints? It seems to get a mention in almost every article you write. I agree it's full of nonsense and it obviously annoys you but you're not gonna change them so why don't you just give it up? I did and I don't miss it at all, fairly sure you wouldn't either. |
| News Comment | Southampton At Newcastle United The Preview at 09:52:15
Who'd have thought only a few short weeks ago that this would be a six pointer. Things can change so quickly. Win today and we can put this horrible little spell behind us. Imagine if it's another heavy defeat.... to Newcastle!! Know it's unlikely but the fear is there 🤞 |
| News Comment | Spurs Certain To Sign Danny Ings After Harry Kane Damages Toe Nail. at 23:40:43
Every time you write these sarcastic articles you end up looking daft when it actually comes to pass. I know nobody wants to believe it but he probably will go to spurs for an unsatisfactory sum. I will be gutted, but it's happened so many times I think most of us just accept it now. Thank god for Ralph, his vision hides a lot of flaws in the way this club is run. And it's got nothing to do with Gao not being able to get his money out of China. He never intended to invest. I just hope we've got a good replacement striker lined up. |
| News Comment | Using The Squad Will Be Key In The Next Few Weeks ! at 00:38:31
We all know how important Danny is to us but wrapping him in cotton wool isn't the answer. With bigger teams sniffing around the one thing we can offer him that they can't is regular football. A lot of it comes down to the player himself. If he feels fit and wants to play then he plays. Injuries can happen to anyone at any time. Spells on the sidelines can lead to a loss of sharpness as we saw against Sheffield United. I'd like to see him start every game and take the risk. |
| News Comment | Is Fraser Forster On The Verge Of A Recall ! at 00:04:05
Need a new whipping boy now that the defence is doing okay? For someone that constantly berates fans for criticising individuals you do more than your share. McCarthy has been fine and certainly doesn't deserve to lose his place. |
| News Comment | Why Ings Would Be Mad To Move To Spurs ! at 02:21:15
I don't want this to be true like all Saints fans but I think there's a lot of desperation and denial in some of the comments. And the article itself tries to make a persuasive argument about why it shouldn't/won't happen. But we've been here before so many times and often the unthinkable just happens, much to our collective dismay. I'm worried there's some truth in it and I won't be in the least bit surprised if it happens I'm extremely sorry to say. |
| News Comment | The Southampton Way Gets A Slight Tweak at 15:28:18
Makes good sense. On a separate note, any way of getting rid of the Scott Parker video that accompanies every article? I'm a tad fed up with it |
| News Comment | Watt View - The Future Is Bright...Again. at 07:35:41
I've missed these, the reason I became a regular in the first place. First literate, sensible article I've seen on here in ages. Not condescending, biased or provocative. Just a common sense opinion piece. Please keep them coming so we don't have to read the usual drivel about Stephens. Before him Yoshida. And how Hoedt is actually really good but regular fans just can't see it. Or how the owner is legit. And how we invest heavily in the squad and there really isn't a surplus of missing money. And all the sycophants that leave ridiculous comments that usually start with 'excellent article Nick'. Whatever, bit of a rant but this article just made me realise how much rubbish is usually spouted on here. Again I implore you, keep the articles coming, thank you |
| News Comment | Do Media Rumours Suggesting Saints In Financial Trouble Have Foundation ! at 14:19:41
It's perfectly reasonable for people to be cautious with their money at the moment. So much uncertainty about what the future holds. When the furlough ends I'm likely to only have part time hours for a couple of months until business picks up. Rightly or wrongly premier clubs are regarded as money obsessed, soulless businesses. Feeling obligated to help them by buying a season ticket early is not a persuasive argument for most, especially when there is so much cynicism regarding the unashamed profiteering that dictates almost every decision the clubs make. Supporters haven't felt valued by their clubs for a long time and things would have continued in the same vein had these circumstances not arisen. So the whole 'your club needs you ✌ï¸' argument just doesn't wash. I'm sure in your daily life you have a lot of empathy with people that are struggling. But here, with your Saints head on, you come across as quite ignorant to the consequences of what's happening at the moment. |
| News Comment | McMenemy Gives Credit To The Saints Board at 00:58:51
Once you read 'Branfoot did okay' it's hard to continue reading. I'm sure the rest of the article was fine but I just couldn't get past that. When did he do okay? |
| News Comment | Hoedt Seeks Final Exit From St Mary's at 15:41:25
Banging this drum again? Fans turned on him because he was a liability. Overplayed and didn't do the basics well. I was definitely enjoying the 'On This Day' articles a lot more. |
| News Comment | Is Souness Telling The Truth ? at 01:54:58
He talks rubbish all the time. Madisson was a good utility player, ideal if you have a small squad and wherever he played he did a decent enough job. He would've been the obvious choice to bring on. Certainly wouldn't have done any worse. |
