On any given day, any club can beat any other club. If you change that competitive nature and it becomes more predictable, broadcast revenues reduce [and] if you affect the broadcast value of the Premier League - the only funder of the entire pyramid, nobody else funds it - you affect the whole pyramid and to do that would be reckless and wrong… Thanks Baroness Brady, I was wondering how football got along before 1992. I can predict one thing with absolute utter certainty and that's that West Ham won't win the Premier League while I have a hole in my arsenal. |

Both my boys went to St Vincents and are now at Gunnersbury. They're good schools. I went to the Oratory in Fulham Broadway which was actually fine, except for the proximity to that pit of fùcking window-licking wànkers the other side of the railway line. |

There's surely a single mum somewhere on the White City estate who'd disagree. |

'Rent boy' was one of the things I used to get [called]. Masterful clarification there. |

I still have PTSD from having to drive around the Toulouse ring road (Périphérique de Toulouse) a few years back. It was an ordeal I can only liken to a cross between the sheer brutality of a Mad Max movie and Smoky and the Bandit for the amount of comedy fànny-tickler moustaches on display. I'm a good driver but that was fùcking brutal. |

Hello Hoopstar your recollection of the warm-up for the strikers is pretty bang on the money. Our key (only) tactic was to win the toss for kick off (the only thing we did win that afternoon) and larrup it towards goal in an attempt to catch the Bees keeper off his line. RD did the honours and hit it like such a minge I wouldn't be surprised if it's still trundling towards the edge of the centre circle today, struggling to achieve escape velocity. And great call on that semi-pro. He did something flash in the warm up like controlling the ball with fewer than 18 touches and I thought "you're the first one to be getting a reducer" - couldn't get near enough to get his attention, let alone foul him. I started that game up front with RoadDog and I don't think there's ever been a worse striking partnership to pull on the hoops. Our best player (Maverick) had one arm. |

This is an excellent point as you've highlighted in a nutshell there's a big difference between what is in the best interests of individual players and the playing squad as a whole over both the short-term (next couple of games) and longer-term this season and the next. Edwards and Morrison is almost an ideal problem to have for me. In Morrison we've made a long-term signing that aligns with our supposed model of identifying potential value to develop, improving the squad, results and the player and ultimately to sell at a handsome profit to reinvest. Until he got injured, Morrison looked to be ticking a lot of boxes for me and it's no coincidence we look steadier at the back when he's playing. But injured he did get and we needed to move quickly to replace him with someone who a) is at least as good or better and b) fits into the squad and isn't an academy wànker. Edwards seems to be both and has the added benefit of a jawline that is making many of us mildly curious in ways we never considered before this age of sheer wokery. What's best for Morrison (or at least what I'd imagine he wants personally) is to play every game he's fit to play. What's best for the playing squad in the short-term (results) is to play the best players you have in every single position and that's Edwards at the moment in one of those positions. What's best for everyone long(er)-term is if Morrison can develop the areas of his game that Edwards is currently better at (jawline notwithstanding). Ultimately, I want to see clubs like Southampton trying to buy players like Morrison from us, much like we should have done with Edwards while he was at Barnet. I'm really not understanding why anyone thinks playing one over the other based on where we might or might not finish is a good idea for anyone. |

Ahh sorry to hear this. Saw him in the Loft a lot and had mutual friends. Some of the shìt he had to hear when Les was coming through fùcking embarrassed me. |

There were a lot of people saying the same thing when we sold Darnell Furlong to West Brom. "£1.5m? I'll drive him there myself" - 5 managers have used 7 different players at right back since then and we're now reliant on a centre back by trade to play there. It's not as easy as just 'get a replacement" |

Sounds like the good people of Hull have attended the LoftForWords school of civil engineering - when faced with any construction challenge: dig down. Like watching "Wish You Were Here" if Judith Chalmers was restricted to shìt football stadiums and battered on export-strength lager. |

Not a bad thing if it's showing a profit, or can be seen to be showing a profit as the Pozzos have demonstrated with Watford and Udinese. Or as everyone else calls it "robbing Peter to pay Paul." |

Ah the Grifter, chariot of mine youth! Weren't they made from the same shìt they make soviet submarine hulls out of? I'm pretty sure NASA fired one into the sun in the 80s to see what would happen and apart from some superficial hairline cracks to the saddle, it's still trundling away somewhere in the region of Andromeda. I just looked up Raleigh Choppers for a laugh and they're going for between two and three THOUSAND quid these days |

Did anyone ever find out what happened to make Impey flip? There must have been previous between them or something must have been said/done off the ball because he put some welly behind that punch. Joey "Poundland Hardman" Barton should take note - if you're getting sent off, that's how you do it. |

I can see them performing this a cappella in the style of a barber-shop quartet complete with ukuleles. |

Glossary Klaxon Awwooogah Awwooogah For everyone who says they were inline with that volley, Loftus Road would have had to be T-shaped with row Z of the South Africa road stand backing onto the Westway. That said, I was in C block. |
