Great to hear! I only found a love for football in my late teens - which isn't my 40s but still felt later than most of my friends. glad you found QPR as well and totally echo what you've said about Clive's writing
Hi all - we've done another interview for our website 'R' Generation, this time with Chaz. Pretty happy with how it turned out, as always he's come out with a few interesting nuggets. No video on this occasion but I have written up Sam Taylor's interview into a longform article. Have a look if you like:
Thanks - yeah I did mention tongue in cheek that our supporters would be chuffed to hear QPR called a massive club. Whether or not he meant it, he said it a lot lol
Remember it really fondly. Also couldn't get tickets to the Olympics but a Paralympian called Ben Quilter came into my Scouts group a few months before to talk to us, and I ended up getting tickets with my dad and a couple of Scouts mates to see him. He ended up winning Bronze despite cartying a nasty injury and we also managed to get into Table Tennis with our tickets. Was just a lovely time and everyone seemed to be in a good mood for the entire month around the Games.
Had a really enjoyable chat with QPR's social media man for the 'R' Generation site - clearly cares a lot about his job, and some good behind the scenes stuff.
Hi all, as always hope it's ok to share this here as you all have been kind before when I've posted my writing! Put together a blog post about how QPR and St Mary's College Durham have a fair bit in common (no, really) and thought you guys might want to read it as well as my uni mates.
Agree on this "minimises the number of key characters," that's my main gripe with the recent series of Doctor Who (which I've generally enjoyed) and the most recent SW film. Why bother having a bunch of "quirky" side characters if you won't write them well, and what's the point if an interesting main character if they've got nothing interesting to do (i.e. Finn in SW). Mandalorian so far has pulled off a good main cast and actually intriguing side characters.
Yeah bit of a high bar on the postage although some of the stuff costs a fortune. Especially a fan of the bright blue shirt with "QPR" printed in shiny Calibri font, and the QPR golf club covers
Not *exactly* the point I was making... Clive's writing is scathing but well-directed. Quite rare that I disagree with him, my article/comments have been aimed at the crowd who just get angry at the club for the sake of it
