Might be. The three shades of blue on the date at the end scares me though. |
| Forum Reply | Sunderland stalemate keeps Rangers hanging – Report at 13:40 18 Mar 2024
While I don't mind Dykes and appreciate his effort and running when he does do it, his lack of anticipation will always be a frustrating point. I've mentioned it before, but I believe his coming to football later in life and lack of a proper 'football education' is something than cannot be legislated for. No amount of coaching at this stage in his career will alter that, unfortunately. |

From the article: 'Bhatia made his own box available, waiving any payment for it, and Gove and David Meller went to the match with their sons and some other guests.' |

Given the success of safe standing, I wonder (and hope) if there are plans to extend it around the ground. Not sure if there are FA/League limitations on how much has to be strictly seated, but it would certainly improve the comfort levels and perhaps offers another more marketable selling point, even if it's a novelty factor. |

Sounds like the Frey deal was done in part using the Transfer Room platform, which is essentially a meat market for clubs/agents to drum up interest in players.
I've noticed it becoming more and more popular with clubs at our level, here and abroad. |

Pritchard leaving Sunderland for Brum is slightly annoying. Looks like PBBC is making tonnes of friends up there. |
| Forum Reply | Your first proper trainers or boots. at 10:47 11 Jan 2024
The first pair of boots I remember having were a pair of Gola ones from Woolworths. One day, my Dad had the bright idea of putting them in the oven to dry quickly, after we'd been down the park, kicking a ball around during a storm. Unfortunately, these line of boots were mostly plastic, and ended up melting, subsequently ruining a baking tray in the process. A few years later, after he'd moved away, he sent me a pair of R9's (the all-silver retail versions), and they were perhaps the greatest pair of boots I ever had. |

Good fun, that. On the Campbell continuously getting in behind Paal (particularly in the first half), part of the blame has to sit with Chair there. He just doesn't track his man. Ever. He trots along and then stands around. Stoke played that simple give and go about half a dozen times in the first half and there was no tracking. He's obviously our best and most creative player, but he gets a bit of an easy ride on his infrequent effort when it comes to the unglamourous stuff. I thought JCS was excellent when he came on. So much calmer and assured than Dunne. I appreciate he was defending against an opponent that wasn't exactly piling forward, but he's so important to how we now play from the back. I hope he starts on Friday. |

One of more entertaining 0-0 draws I've seen. I'm dubious as to whether we'll survive, especially given the lack of goals in the team, but if we're going to be playing like that (or at least trying to) for the rest of the season, then I can accept it. I thought we played some really nice football at times and I was entertained. I think Paal was probably our best player, closely followed by Field and Willock. Was great to see Willock interested and tricky, but he's clearly not the player of 12/18 months ago. Dykes tried and put himself about but, once more, his anticipation is non-existent. Too often in the wrong place or arriving in the right place at the wrong time. Similar of Sinclair when he came on, annoyingly. |

A Hammarby-supporting pal of mine is worried that a couple of their players could leave. One in particular is Jusef Erabi, their young striker. He's coming into the final year of his contract, is only 20-years-old, and is apparently quite useful. He's got 11 in all comps this season, although hasn't scored in months and has only been coming off the bench recently. |

Everyone in this league clamouring to be the disaster club of the week. Wonder if this means Eustace or Jones in at Waaaalll. |

If we lose next weekend (likely) we set an unwanted record. I'm secretly hoping the Loft has a flag ready for the record-breakers to let them know that 1 win at home in 21 attempts isn't acceptable. Nevertheless, today wasn't good. By any stretch of the imagination. Cov were there for the taking, and poor defending, switching off, and not tracking runners gave away three simple goals. At the other end, it was a similar case of not having any attacking prowess. The lack of anticipation for what little we did create was frustrating, and the delivery from any set play (recurring theme, I know), is beyond a joke. I'd be astounded if we scored above 40 goals this season. The refereeing was barely Sunday League level, but we can't using poor officiating as a scapegoat. We should take it out of their incapable hands and be out of sight against some of these substandard teams. |

I was wondering this as well. Given he hasn't played a competitive game in four months, it won't be any time soon. Sounds like he's on an accelerated programme to get him up to speed, but even then, I can't imagine he'll be first team ready for 5-6 weeks. I'd conservatively say we won't see him until around the November international break. |

I wonder if there are any future plans to expand the amount of rail seating in the stadium. From memory, the type of seating we installed recently provides slightly more room than existing seating. To be able to do that to as much of the ground as is allowed could be a good way of improving at least one aspect of the fan experience. |
