Right, The Mrs and the saucepan lids and the dog have set sail for Ireland today living me in sole charge of the tele-visual equipment and remote controls.
Therefore I am looking forward to 2 weeks of being able to watch what I want as opposed to the usual chick flick crap I get subjected to for the rest of the year with 4 women in the house.
So any recommendations would be gratefully accepted for recently released quality stuff I would have missed and should check out.
Films ideally should should be drama/thrillers types, more cerebral than the expendables and not your Cowboys vs Aliens/transformers type nonsense.
Another vote for End of Watch. Film of the year for me, brutal. I enjoyed Cloud Atlas as well, but a straw poll of mates says that 3+ hours on the meaning of life via five historical time zones featuring Tom Hanks might be an acquired taste.
Or any box set comprising Spiral (depressing French police madness), Sons of Anarchy (Hells Angels crime madness), House of Cards on Netflix (superb political madness), The Wire (been done to death but just superb), The Killing (the Danish ones, not the crappy US ones)...
We live in amazing times for TV entertainment really. Hours and hours of brilliant entertainment available any time you want it. Remember when taping Eastenders seemed exciting?

Was the order of the night in the end.
Really enjoyed it.
So now, tomorrow night?
I felt Inglorious bastards was a better film than Django, more tension and a feasable ending which Django lacked, If you enjoyed Django which I did as a peice of entertainment then you will probably enjoy Inglorious Bastards
If you liked any of the Alien series then Prometheus is a must see
although its a few years old I am always suprised at the number of people who havent seen Fargo, thats a really good film

Fargo good, Prometheus bad imo. Big let down for me. Just bought box set of original Aliens on bluray for a tenner, havnt bothered watching 3 and 4 yet, but watching Alien in HD is good.

End of Watch was a good film, Cloud Atlas on the other hand was the worst film i've seen in a long time, it's certainly not for everyone.
I've just started watching Dexter, that's good entertainment for an evening or five.

utter utter Gash
watched it the other night so predictable it was untrue, the only good bits is the role Samuel L Jackson plays Tarantinos films are getting worse and he has run out of ideas since pulp fiction ATAF
nearly true, but the role SLJ plays was by far the worst thing in the film; so stereotypical of every badass role he has played (particularly for QT) for the past 20 years. BORING
barely watchable spaghetti western at best; defo appears to be a big marmite film tho'

Well, tonight I watched Flight. Denzil Washington plays the part of an airline pilot who struggles to cope with everyday life as a Queens Park Rangers fan.
