Sudbury. That Gerry Francis goal at Spurs is the best I have ever seen by a Rangers player but I never see it mentioned in threads like this. Probably because there is no TV footage of it as far as I can tell. I was beginning to think I imagined it !
No TV at all. It was one of only a couple of league games that day as most other teams were playing in the FA Cup (no change there!).
It was also mentioned in the programme recently in an interview with Gerry Francis who stated it was his best goal scored. Think it was a 3-1 away win for the R's.
Weirdly, the Furlong one I went totally mental and it was the most rocking I've ever seen at LR, absolutely incredible. But most mental really was Mackie last season. I don't know what came over me. I went nuts. Jumped on the back of the seat in front until it snapped in two. I even phned the club the next day and apologised, but she said not to worry, she was sure a few seats got broken after that goal. Brilliant.
Trev - that goal! Adel - 2nd v Swans Gerry Francis v Liverpool 1975
Those are the three I would say, except I would put the Francis goal first -- he picked it up from inside our own half, played an amazing one-two and hit it full in stride. It was team and individual brilliance. I might also be tempted to swop the Adel-Routlidge goal for Adel's Swansea goal. the outside of the foot pass and the Routlidge control--sheer brilliance. Then there is a goal or tow from Allen, that I would want to shoe horn in as well!

Who was the right back we had in Division One... he wasn't with us long but he scored a couple of ludicrously long range strikes from the wing?
I think he might have gone on to play in Italy or something but he was English. Possibly.
Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

Was it McDermott the Aussie ? I think he went to west brom, He looked really good but wasn't rated by Houston
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles
Brian Moore
Rodder's almost orgsasmic equaliser Wembley '67. Stan v Cologne. Rodder's third v Birmingham.
Blob, I doff my cap to you. I was there to see that hat- trick, how could I forget it it? Must be Oldtimer's Disease.
Marsh's third against Brum means we should have a top four. I can't leave that one out - but neither can I drop the others. Or Stan's against Cologne. Top Five then!
Can anyone visualise SWP, Park and some of the other donkeys we've got here on big bucks right now ever getting close to any of them?

Why does it feel like R'SWiPe is still on the books? Yer Couldn't Make It Up.Well Done Me!
Vine v Burnley will love long in the memory. Kiraly (their 'keeper) up for a corner, ball breaks to Vine on teh edge of our area. Cue 80 yard Keystone Kop race. Last five seconds we knew it was a goal - 20- to the Rs - fantastic night out...
Thanks for the video clip. It seemed like 40 yards out at the time. Wel,l I was 40 yards away from it anyway.
Isn't Port Vale the largest pitch in the League? So it could be 40 yards after all.
Why can't we score great goals like those any more?
Max Miller Hateley was bloody dreadful that day, didn't he get hooked after half time?
He did get hooked and Dichio came on and played a blinder. That season it usually went: Dichio would start, play crap, be hooked for Hateley who would play okay (relatively by his awful standards for us). Next game: Hateley would start, play crap be hooked for Dichio who would play well ad infinitrum
Ian Stewart was v Stoke. Howzabout Ian Stewart at Highbury 83/84, GET IN!!
All the usual suspects already listed so I'll add Langers home to Blackpool
Good call on the Ian Stewart goal at Highbury! My other recollection is some fisticuffs breaking out in the North Bank. Then about 20 odd Tachini/Gabbici etc clad QPR got pulled out of there by the police. They were led down the pitch to the away end where they enetered to generous applause.
Other favourties would have been mentioned:
Sinclair v Barnsley obviously. Best goal ever. Wegerle at Leeds John Byrne waltzing through the scum defence in the 6-0 Falco volley v scum SWP v scum Helguson pen v scum ANYONE v scum Bannister winner v scousers around 1984, first time I ever saw us beat them. Andy Gray brace in 3-2 win over Man Utd. A great talent unfulfilled. Ray Wilkins volley v scousers in FA cup. Wilkins header in 4-1 over Spurs. David Pizanti in FA cup against West Ham. Tommy Smith title clincher at Watford. Furlong goal in the 3-1 at Sheff Weds to seal promotion. So well taken. Taarabt this season v West Ham in an otherwise utterly forgettable game. Taarabt v Fulham. Trevor Francis hattrick at Villa. Kenny Sansom v Arsenal in FA cup tie played in driving rain (1990) Clive Wilson 90th min penalty v Millwall in cup.
Sir Les doesn't seem to feature much in these lists. What about the one away to Wimbledon (1994?) where he ran from halfway? Holloway scored that day also in a 2-1 win I think. I also remember a classic free kick of his at Oldham (1993?) where we went on to loose heavily.
