who are the mercenaries? 22:41 - Dec 23 with 7086 views | noauthority | Ok lot's of talk of many a mercenary in the Rs squad. Beyond possibly Boswinga (rumour is he didn't track back a couple of times), just which players do you think they are? And more importantly why are they a mercenary? Note: their salary is irrelevant all footballers are grossly overpaid these days, basically if their salary alone makes them a mercenary then all players are... Convince me i.e. explain ideally with supporting examples/evidence...

Given that the only chance to bring players in ends in January, it's not as desperate a gamble as you make out.

who are the mercenaries? on 17:37 - Dec 24 with 1200 views | andygg | Mercenaries, are people who dont give a fcuk, who have no allegiance, and cant be bothered to improve. So I would say, Cisse, Barton, swp and Bosingwa are the prime suspects.

Don't agree that swp doesn't work hard, he's just been overrated (and therefore overpaid) for much of his career. I think it's fair to say though that he must look pretty f*ckin handy in training to feature so consistently in our starting 11. Hoilett I would put into the "underperforming and not working hard enough" category. Given his performances in a struggling Blackburn side last season he really should be contributIng more when he gets a run out.

I didnt say swp doesnt work hard, but it seems he cant be arsed to improve. How about he spend a couple of hours after training shooting at goal, and getting his crossing up to scratch. I forgot about Hoilett, he can go on my list too.
who are the mercenaries? on 20:39 - Dec 24 with 1167 views | NathanNI | That list of Clive's makes such depressing reading. I have to say I'm really disappointed in Granero. Had such high hopes for him and whilst I thought he started brightly he really seems to have dropped off in every department.
who are the mercenaries? on 00:07 - Dec 25 with 1134 views | derbyhoop | Queens Park Rangers have signed former Chelsea right-back Jose Bosingwa on a three-year deal. The 29-year-old Portuguese has been without a club since May after Chelsea decided not to offer him a new contract. "He has got a winning mentality and that is what I want to have around the place," said manager Mark Hughes. That was in August. Winning mentality? Any evidence, anyone? Only another 30 months before we can get shot of him.

who are the mercenaries? on 15:02 - Dec 24 by tom007 | i agree with melaka for me the problem is that a lot of the players we got in couldnt make the 1st teams at the clubs they came from yet appear to have come here either on the same money or in some instances on more money. now you tell me that is good business. we are paying under achievers to play for us as if we can get better out of them. could it be they were no good in the 1st place otherwise they would have not been let go in the 1st place. i dont think they have underperformed they are just crap anyway and the teams they came from probably could not believe their luck that naive idiots were willing to take them off their hands in the 1st place. |
I think the following fall into that category: Green Onuoha Ferdinand Dyer SWP Zamora Johnson | | | | Login to get fewer ads
who are the mercenaries? on 09:20 - Dec 26 with 1042 views | finney | I am not sure what was going on with our transfer policy but when Hughes came i spoke to a man city fan who is also a very high up hack who said Hughes will flood the squad with players via his superagent pal should he come to Qpr as well. Of which he did and Mike Rigg as well now if you look at Hughes record before he linked up with the agents he works with now it was not bad. Since the link up it is now beyond stupid. I can panned at the start of the season of the season in saying why on earth have we got alone on keepers almost 200k a week on wages. Madness, yep Hughes and his lot got in some utter dross on huge wages and players that Qpr should never look at in a million years. But this whole thing started before Hughes came of which no one wants to hear but the board wanted big players to brand the club starting with Barton and so on. Fact is they got players in that they felt were huge names to sell shirts and so on and trouble was they went too fast too soon on players who have lost hunger, passion, pride in themselves and Hughes and his crew of some had the personality of a ducks arse ran rings round the board on the transfers. A lot of people said it and what we lacked was a person in the board room like a David Dein who would oversee the manager and not let someone have full control of the piggy bank. And who also understands how the game works. The players we should have got in for a couple of season should have been a blend of premier know how young up and coming players and rebuild the scouting system which has been for years a phone call to some agents and getting in players for all the wrong reasons. We have had the most busy transfer windows of most clubs in this league and that is insane and also a sign that it is all knee jerk and panic. And come Jan we find ourselves trying to off load a hell of a lot of dross that no one in their right mind would sign. And will see the old boys of our championship winning team having to show some of these overpaid gobshites the way to fight in a battle trouble is that get out of jail card is now in danger of massive over use. Now Harry will get loans in and work the market no question about that the problem is has is that come Jan he needs to put an almost squad on leave and keep them away from the others to get the right mindset to get out of this mess some of them players are poison and the last of Hughes staff such as Hodges needs to go as well. We need to be as one and we are not but Redknapp will sort most of it trouble is was he got in too late and can he do what will be the hardest job on his hands in years. Yep he can and yes i think we will stay up but when that happens the board need to learn from this season and thank their lucky stars that someone seen sense in that boardroom and sacked hughes when they did. As for gobshites like Boswinga he is a disgrace and if he is allowed to wear our shirt again at any level the club has no moral backbone. Only by getting rid of him and his ilk can we have the belly for the fight.
