Have Southampton Fans Finally Lost Faith With The Club on 09:57 - Feb 20 with 513 views | saint901 | I've not "lost faith" but I certainly wish this season would end and that we hear from the owners a sensible and sustainable plan to get us back to being something other than three points in the bag for the opposition. Thee is a thought that those who got us into this mess with poor recruitment, hanging on to a clueless manager for too long and then replacing him with worse, trying to turn the stadium into a theme park and a failure to communicate with fans, are not those best placed to find a solution. If so, they should sell the club to somebody who not only cares but shows that they care. I am resigned to a struggle next season to stay in the Champ and it being another five years before we are serious contenders for promotion. I think that by the time we are there will be a European super league which will dilute the quality of the PL and make it easier for promoted clubs to stay there. It has been many years since I was a Milton Road chorus participant. However the fact that I choose not to be in the Northam End repeating inane songs does not mean that my support for the club is wavering. I support the club and the team and would do even if we were in the National League but it makes me by turns angry and sad to see where we are this season.

Have Southampton Fans Finally Lost Faith With The Club on 09:42 - Feb 20 by franniesTache | Chapel block 21 seems to be the consensus for a fair few of us looking to move, i'm not even fussed if i have to sit in all honesty, i just need to get the f*ck away from the inbetweeners crap i'm now in the middle of |
I like it in The Chapel (apart from the whining man-baby who sits directly behind me) but you'll have to get used to all the conversations about gout and varicose veins and, of course, the constant stream (excuse the pun) of gentlemen nipping to the gents.

I think that does pretty well sum up the majority of fans inc me with an almost apathy towards the whole situation due to the ineptitude of the powers that be. We have been in absolute dire situations before and particularly remember the 2005 relegation and a guy at work (MU fan!) started to take the pi55 (he worked under me but in a small company) and I just told him to shut the fuk up in a serious tone. He could see how thoroughly depressed I was and then hid in a corner somewhere as he realised how much it hurt We were also only a couple of points adrift and by no means not the worst GD.This season God knows how far adrift we'll be! Somehow this season I don't think I will be as depressed because it is totally accepted now by all, inc the players quite clearly, that we are going down. At least last time I thought we stood a chance of coming straight back up again (oh well, wrong again), but this time I believe we'll be down for quite a while unless there is a serious change of direction with the club So I haven't lost faith with the club, but I have lost faith with the ownership and all that is happening with the club at the moment [Post edited 20 Feb 11:23]

That sums how I feel exactly, kingslandstand. Sad but true,we cant blame the players, undesirable fans in the Northam or clueless managers ,its the ownership and who by their lack of communication with the fans have clearly lost the plot.

I've been in the Chapel a few times over the years and it really is the 'deadest' part of the ground, everyone sitting around like zombies not clapping or cheering, let alone shouting encouragement. You feel like you need to push pins into people to see if they're still alive. So consequently the thought of them sitting there is silence while they're being balled out with the most foul language from away fans just feet away, puts a wry smile on my face. If anything I hope it shocks them into action.....we'll at least one can hope they'll shout a bit of support for their team.
