I think your appraisal of the secod half and player ratings seem a bit harsh.

Agreed, but when the Williams style works it is a thing of beauty.

Agree we still had far more possession, far more chances and forced more saves than QPR did in second half.

QPR did not have a shot on target all match.

QPR changed tactics but our game management was good.

Franco's pass to Key leading to the he second goal was an example of what we have been missing, the sort of pass that Routledge, Dobbie or Hernandez used to make.

He comes off when he starts to fatigue and is presumably at more risk of injury.

If he had Grimes’ match fitness, he wouldn’t come off at all. He’s certainly not being replaced on ability.

This is an unnecessary witch hunt.

I wonder how much this had something to with our first half performance … ?

I thought the Vipotnik, Bianchini, Peart-Harris ratings especially were indicative of a team who has certain players who are not of championship standard. Abdulai passed the ball back four times in his cameo and got one cross in and then looked reluctant. We either have strength in depth or we haven’t, and we haven’t. Was he harsh ? Possibly, But the players with low ratings are for the best part not good enough.

It’s time for us to be demanding as much as the club is of our time and money.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

Grimes has always been massive for the club off the pitch, a real leader, and yesterday he led by example on the pitch, he was just superb. That’s the Matt Grimes we want to see. When he is in that mood he is the best Championship midfielder.

True Keith, but i thought the ratings of our better players yesterday could have been a mark or two higher Bianchini was awful yesterday tho.

I didn’t think he was. Like Vipotnik, he’s raw abd it’s a steep learning curve.

He did screw up when he was played into very good positions, particularly the one where he went through and did a weird spin without touching the ball, but both of them are getting themselves into that kind of situation a little bit more now. That’s the hardest part. Finishing will come, putting themselves in the position to finish is what both of them (Vipotnik especially) have struggled with.

He also pressed very hard in the first half, playing a big part in QPR, who clearly like to pass it out from the back, not being able to get any moves going and being completely starved of the ball.

Unfortunately Grimes gets a lot of stick for how he is perceived to be as a captain & seems to be the brunt of criticism when we have an off day. He was outstanding yesterday.

The head coach staying away from the dressing room before the match & at half time seems just bizarre to me. His post match interview also very strange. I found his ramblings about being ‘careful with the ball’ & ‘having players close to the ball when we lose possession’ all a bit uninspiring after such a performance. He should have been purring after a 3-0 win & the style of the first half dominance. It kind of sums him up, more than a little uninspiring. Maybe he should leave the pre-match team talk to someone else every match

I thought Bianchini was instrumental in our win. Constantly closing down players especially their keeper and stopping their possession at source. Yes he missed a glorious chance, but you need to be sharp with confidence high to put them away, you don't get that unless playing regularly.

He was but I’ve a good feeling about him given time to build some confidence. His miss yesterday when one-on-one admittedly was poor.

I'd say Bianchini is one of, if not THE fastest play we have had.

I thought his closing down was excellent and he defended brilliantly from the front.

He was doing no more than Jerry Yates did last season, half a yard short when closing down, not gambling on options and slowing up when reaching an opponent. Vipotnik the same. Yes it may well give the opposition something to think about but you look at his stats and it’s an ineffective contribution.

One effective dribble all season, no assists, two effective possession recoveries in the final third. I’ll give him this he is fairly decent when defending with his head. But he is in the number nine strikers role mostly. It isn’t encouraging.

And he has played 500 minutes of football. He is also being played out of position, so maybe in a year or so time we will hear of him being treated disgracefully by Luke Williams as per Abdulai.

It happens.

I know it’s putting all our eggs in one basket but I’d like to see Bian on the wing with Vip at 9 and Cullen in the 10.
I have had a Christmas drink so please take that into account 😂
