The I voted labour and want to apologise thread. 04:14 - Nov 23 with 7580 views | mangohilljack | This space is dedicated to issuing an apology to the people of Great Britain—those whose lives have been jeopardised, the pensioners deprived of adequate heating, the homeless and veterans repeatedly overlooked, and the medically injured who have been callously ignored by a government that shows no regard for their welfare. We are witnessing what may be the most disastrous government in living memory—one that appears to despise its own people and actively contributes to the decline of a once-great nation. If you voted Labour, we invite you to reflect and express your apologies below.

Yes it is a large number of people. They are barking though, you can't just ditch a result because a vast minority don't like it. If they doubled the number it's barely more than 10% of those who voted.

Spot on. Labour had a generational mandate due to Truss, Brexit failure, and pandemic fraud. Johnson has gone from useless Journo to useless PM and back to being a useless Journo. As Macron said ‘this is not serious givernment’. Starmer has no charisma and fails to communicate clearly, but he is still a million times better than the posh Tory utter shambles that made the UK an international joke. Mogg ffs. What we are seeing though is the rich media owners trying hard to undermine this newly elected govrrnment. Its Trumpism. Farmers usually get public sympathy so they have been weaponised. God only knows why farmers should be treated differently to you and I. Its why Clarkson and Dyson have bought farms, to dodge inheritance tax. [Post edited 27 Nov 3:15]

The I voted labour and want to apologise thread. on 10:39 - Nov 23 by Scotia | The content is what matters, you said they'd done nothing about the illegal immigration issue even the furthest right media outlet has pointed out they've done more than the Tories. Four months they've had, how can they have ignored manifesto pledges (intended over a 5 year period In four months? How can they make a lasting impact on the economy in four months? They'll be alienating a lot more of the population to put things right. We'd better face up to it. We could also be facing a huge economic and defence problem if Trump implements his proposals. No government in the UK could do anything about that. As Pawel says, a major problem is the press there Farmers IHT is basically a sound policy, I'm also pretty confident that the Mail would call for benefits to be means tested. But because it's Labour they'll get hammered for it It's going to be a bumpy ride. |
Starmer's labour is worse than Drakeford's labour.

A very, very low bar to better and nothing to gloat about. Politics in this country is shambolic. Those who know what they are doing rip us off to better themselves and those who don't are making ridiculous decisions purely down to lack of knowledge and experience.

Maybe so, but they have only been in power for a few months. They whole system will have to be changed after 14 years of incompetence and neglect. We couldn't expect a new regime to come into the club and then get us into the prem within a few months. Time will tell

Doubt labour has the will to take on the unions and introduce the reforms to NHS to get it running properly and effectively. It seems to be run for the benefit of the staff rather than the patients. One easy and quick reform is to start charging foriegn born nationals and tourists when they use the NHS like most countries so. Exemptions would applying to anyone working in the UK for more than a year as they would have paid NI. Another urgent reform is needed in our public services and civil service. Currently their output is 8.3% less than before covid despite an increase in staff off over 100,000. Unfortunately labour have targeted the wealth creating private sector with their £30 billion hit on business from April.

Like all of Labours new money being thrown around, it comes with no conditions ,especially when it comes to the NHS its a case of "carry on regardless"

Why would Labour want to take on the Unions, they are not Conservatives, they would rather work with them. The NHS is extremely efficient for a huge organisation. It has far less management to staff compared to most private companies. Yes, it has problems due to insufficient funding. Most tourists have private medical insurance , just as we would have when going overseas. When you say the private wealth creating sector who I presume you mean the farmers. Those whingers just want to avoid paying inheritance tax that the rest of us will have to pay at a higher rate As for NI employer contributions, i would prefer that to increased employee contributions
