Cook rolls back the years as QPR stand firm for first clean sheet – Report on 08:41 - Oct 28 with 2833 views | BrianMcCarthy | Thanks Clive. Good report, very reasoned. Much to be happy with, but can't be euphoric about it either.

Cook rolls back the years as QPR stand firm for first clean sheet – Report on 08:48 - Oct 28 with 2803 views | stevec | Good report and much admiration for all of those that made the effort to get there. Was far easier cleaning the golf clubs and tidying the garage with sporadic checks on how many goals Burnley had piled on and each time being pleasantly surprised.
Cook rolls back the years as QPR stand firm for first clean sheet – Report on 09:01 - Oct 28 with 2732 views | thehat | Thanks Clive great summary for those of us who were out doing other things Saturday and hats of too the 710 hardy souls who made the trip. As you say something to build on. Unfortunately we are back in a dogfight so trying to play the tippy tappy play out from the back stuff may have to be put on ice until (if) we can get into calmer waters.
Cook rolls back the years as QPR stand firm for first clean sheet – Report on 09:04 - Oct 28 with 2707 views | gazza1 | Spot on Norf, Cook was 'proper' and he is a very good signing. Does a real Captain's job & is not frightened to 'call someone out' if they are not doing the job. Some of his tackles & interceptions were game saving. Fair play to the 'old boy'.
Cook rolls back the years as QPR stand firm for first clean sheet – Report on 09:07 - Oct 28 with 2695 views | BristolR | Great write up Clive, a good point but frustrating watch nonetheless. The number of 50/50s lost in midfield was astonishing, almost as astonishing as our stout defending. So a good point but as Brian says nothing to get too excited by. In other news, am I alone in tittering to their Defender apparently being called Maximum Steve…sounds like a career in porn awaits after retirement .
Cook rolls back the years as QPR stand firm for first clean sheet – Report on 09:14 - Oct 28 with 2660 views | gazza1 | Whilst we didn't win enough midfield battles/tackles, we were pretty well organised throughout in midfield, shutting players down, keeping their shape, tracking Burnley players and so on, and, whilst its a given, they worked very hard, they played a big part in the draw. Yes, it would have been nice to make some big tackles but that was left to the defence.
Cook rolls back the years as QPR stand firm for first clean sheet – Report on 09:24 - Oct 28 with 2620 views | Paddyhoops | Great report . Marti set the team up to be hard to beat . He put a system and plan in place and it worked probably for the first time this season. The manager and players deserve credit . Special mention for the 700 or so who travelled up north . Superb.
Cook rolls back the years as QPR stand firm for first clean sheet – Report on 10:03 - Oct 28 with 2434 views | QPROslo | It was a very sound defensive performance away at a promotion favourite on the back of poor results and our next to bottom league position, but our inability to manage so little attack wise was worrying. I watched Norwich - Boro yesterday and both teams, especially Boro, looked like they were in a League above to me rather than teams just outside the top 6, particularly in the way they managed to pass their way forwards through midfield. Worrying in that we play Boro soon and other teams not far above us in the League look so much better than us. We need to improve our game going forwards, while maintaining a solid defense. Difficult when unlike others we need to give so much help to our backs from Smyth and Saito, which reduces their attacking threat and with Celar we play virtually with no striker. I think we need new and better players at LB, striker, probably in midfield too, but not sure we can do that in January with our FFP situation. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Lovely bit of sportsmanship, very refreshing to see that amongst all the other sh*thousery that players produce to cheat and con their way through a game. [Post edited 28 Oct 15:07]

Cook rolls back the years as QPR stand firm for first clean sheet – Report on 21:32 - Oct 28 with 988 views | ManinBlack | Excellent report as always. To be fair to Burnley they may have only drawn at Oxford but we have to acknowledge that Oxford have played 5 at home, won 3 and drawn two. The other draw was against West Brom so decent results for a newly promoted club with no defeats compared to the home debacles we endure. West Brom won comfortably against us but have now gone 6 without a win so perhaps they really aren't that good. We have had three great results away to the relegated sides but I still fear we will lose against two of them when we meet again at home. When we won 2-1 at Burnley previously it shouldn't be forgotten they thumped us 3-0 at Loftus Road in front of the Sky camera's. I just don't trust us to beat anyone at home. Perhaps playing better sides in the coming weeks will see more fight from us and help gloss over the fact we are the only team to lose to Portsmouth and the only team to hand Plymouth an away point. The charitable nature of this club never fades and is always a given like an England batting collapse in the cricket.
