Cannot believe am gonna say this, have never seen Simple Minds live
Always been a huge fan ever since I saw them appear on TOGWT back in 1979 with the video below. I've only ever seen them twice - the last time being many moons ago. I still listen to New Gold Dream regularly. Wonderful album that still sounds great today 40-odd years on.

Blimey. That is surprising. Even I've seen them (at Milton Keynes Bowl with The Stranglers more than 30 years ago) and I'm not a big pop/rock fan.
They've mellowed with age but I like their new drummer, Cherisse Osei. She injects a lot of energy into an ageing band and even won a best live drummer award.

Mental really when I think about it. Been listening to S.M. since the late 80’s but just somehow never caught them. Toyed with seeing them a few years back in town, but for some reason gave it a miss. I think at the time the tickets were pricey and it was an acoustic tour (which would have had the female you mention on the sticks).
This has got me thinking of acts that I am still yet to see, or may never see that I would have loved to:
The Clash Johnny Cash Stuart Adamson (Big Country) Pink Floyd INXS Manics (with Richey) Nirvana
….to name a few
Ready and waiting to mop up those European places......
I've just found this (from 1981). As a former (original) new romantic, it just doesn't get any better than this... well not for me anyway!
Not a New Romantic by any stretch, but have seen Duran Duran a few times. Must admit, loved them doing ‘White Lines’. Always remember seeing them on ‘The Word’ with Dani Behr presenting. Loved getting home pïssed on a Friday night and catching her on the box (in the days when pubs chucked out around half eleven.

‘The Word’ with Dani Behr. Fond memories of old Dani. Funnily enough I read somewhere recently that she's an estate agent in LA these days. Anyway, thought you'd like this...
