We don't have enough English top flight managers, with experience of winning anything (am I right, Redknapp's FA Cup win with Pompey eons ago, is the last trophy won by an English man?) or with experience managing in European competion.

If the FA are looking to create a system of training up and promoting from within, then Carsley will be in the mix. When it boils down to options, not a huge cast of English managers for the FA to consider.
