England QPR XI 20:28 - Jun 17 with 4490 views | Antti_Heinola | Wondering whether you can get a decent England XI of QPR players. Rule is they must’ve got England caps while playing for us. So far… Seaman Bardsley Parker Fenwick Thomas Francis (c) Venables (i think?) Sinton Ferdinand Bowles Missing a left back. Any ideas? Sansom not eligible.

England QPR XI on 20:32 - Jun 17 with 3474 views | HotCurrie | Ian Gillard won 3 England caps at Left Back. Venables got 2 caps but not while playing for us. You could replace him in midfield with John Gregory even though, for some bizarre reason, Bobby Robson played him at right back! Phil Parkes played for England while at QPR but Seaman only got his when he went to the Arse I think. Also, is there a place for Rodney Marsh or Clive Allen? [Post edited 17 Jun 20:36]

Definitely played for England while with us. Dave Clement or Bardsley a tough call.

Seaman won three caps whilst with us, the last of them in the friendly with Czechoslovakia at Wembley in 1990 (the game where Gazza sealed his place). He was in the provisional World Cup squad but picked up an injury just before the finals and Dave Beasant took his place.

That's what I've heard too, Steve. I saw him play a lot, but I was too young to judge.

England QPR XI on 21:54 - Jun 17 with 3150 views | timjones | Dave Thomas would be a definite starter. The best crosser of a football that I’ve ever seen at Rangers and I think he provided a fair number of assists for Bob Latchford when he went to Everton.

Marsh has to be a sub. And Parkes was probably better than Seaman?

Who? Parkes? Won his only cap in Ramsey's last game in April 1974, the game ironically where he finally tried starting some new, different players (six debuts) but it was too late. Stan won his first cap in the same match. [Post edited 17 Jun 22:15]

Thomas's last cap for England was April 1975, apparently, which I find perplexing, given how high flying we were the following year. Anyone remember what happened? Re Rodney's ridiculously small number of 9 caps for his country, I laughed again at the story on his Wiki page: 'It has been reported that the England manager Alf Ramsey told him "I'll be watching you for the first 45 minutes and if you don't work harder I'll pull you off at half time," to which Marsh replied: "Crikey, Alf, at QPR all we get is an orange and a cup of tea."'

Bardsley was fabulous for us having said that on any given Saturday you could turn up at the ground look at the team sheet, see Dave Clements name on there and think 'we'll be alright' so Dave Clement wins It for me. In goal I'm torn between Ron Springett, Phil Parkes and David Seaman. Ian Gillard LB.

Ron Springett didn't play for England whilst with us though Ted. He won all his caps at Sheffield Wednesday.

England QPR XI on 23:53 - Jun 17 with 2866 views | Myke | Am I right in thinking David Webb was the only uncapped player in that '75/'76 Team? Incidentally, Don Givens was our top scorer that season with 13! There is hope for Dykes yet!
England QPR XI on 00:19 - Jun 18 with 2845 views | lightwaterhoop | Just looked this up and it seems our first England player was Evelyn Lintott who won 3 caps in 1908 and was killed in WWI in the battle of the Somme. Is this true? i am a little surprised we have not heard this before. At least ive not. I seem to recall that Leicester were playing Liverpool so Shilton and Clemence were unavailable. Corrigan and Parkes were always the nearly men but what an era for keepers.
