Heather Mylan, 65, who lives near the hill, described the situation as “heartbreaking”.

Probably does not appreciate the need for jobs in the Swansea area.

So historic that not a tree was to be seen on it until the late 60's early 70's . I live in the area and love the views but I also love the idea that jobs will be created and with it a much needed growing economy (despite Cardiffs best efforts to thwart such ideas) .
I never heard a whisper nor complaint when the recently built solar farm on the eastern slope of the hill was built , this to potentially provide electricity for 3,000 homes.

I’ve passed Kilvey Hill on numerous occasions in the past but I’ve never been up there, it always looked a bit barren and a bit desolate back in the day. Can’t comment on what it looks like now because when I visit Swansea I invariably travel in and out from the West, but watching the news earlier and looking at the views they were pretty good.

I’ve not seen the plans for the Swansea site, but I have visited the attraction the same company have developed in Rotorua, New Zealand and I thought it was awesome. The luge ride they’ve developed was fantastic, defo worth a few quid of anyone’s money, especially if there’s a gang of you racing. Not sure if it’ll be sustainable as we need the numbers coming through, but if you don’t try you don’t know. Have a look at the link below to see what it looks like and what the luge’s look like. The gradient on the luge is quite steep, I went airborne on mine with all 4 wheels off the ground so video can be deceptive.

As far as I’m concerned, it’s a case of bring it on.
