He has to be an excellent option.

A couple of articles explaining why I think Osian Roberts would be a good fit for us.

I still don’t understand.

He’s not a manager.

If appointments were not made because he was not a manager then we wouldn't have any managers!

A manager needs to start somewhere.

It's not difficult to understand.

They usually do that when they are in their 30’s. A player going into management after their playing career is one thing, coaching staff going into it late in life is quite another.

Osian is knocking on 60.

If he wasn’t Welsh nobody would even mention him… and people talk about ambition.

Read the inside track on Viera leaving in The Atheltic today. Roberts ability questioned by the Senior players who didn't take to him.

Educating coaches and actually managing/coaching players is two different things. And that Palace experience now has to be a huge red flag for him.

Similar comment on The Athletic's Tifo IRL channel. Not for me.

Inconclusive stuff to say the least. Seems to highly regarded as a coach, working in the back ground but that’s a different ball game to leading a club like ours. At 55 years old it’s highly unlikely that he would fit the bill. I can’t see it.

Where we have succeeded best is with young, hungry managers. From Toshack right through to Martinez, Rodgers, Potter, Cooper etc.

We need a sharp reset even if it's in the short term, the process is currently not working. It's not the time for a long term fix, we need action now.

We don’t . We do need owners with ambition though.

Sharp reset? What does that mean? If the manager goes in the summer then we must look to the next young hungry manager. It’s easier said than done but Joe Allen ( just an example ) might tick the boxes if he was interested and ambitious.

Pay your money and take your chance i suppose, his lack of a previous managerial job is a worry but who knows. Russ is "young and hungry" apparently and that's turned out brilliantly.
Was between Osian and Giggs for the Wales job not so long back, he'd definitely get a chance to put his xase forward. Has been part of good stuff at Wales, Morocco and Palace.

Bring him in alongside could be a good option, and back up.

Bit like some wanting Jonny Williams here, only got in the Welsh team because he sucked up to Ramsey and Bale.

Well, not ALL accounts. Apparently, some players at Palace were not happy with the coaching staff.

Apparently the same was mentioned here about our players and coaches, I always saw completely the opposite on match day.

I hadn't heard that about ours TBH. Obviously, I have no inside knowledge of the Palace situation, just what was reported on The Athletic, I think.

Aw bless them.
I mean what does Patrick Vieira know about football.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

I don’t think he was sacked as a result of a lack of football knowledge.

But man management, ability to motivate, tactics, game plans, training sessions, formations and team selection and recruitment ….
