Agree. I was watching their results, in the hope they may pull it off. Weren't they founder members of the Prem? Had a plastic pitch like us too. There are a lot of teams I grew up with in the Conference/National League now.
Greater Manchester used to be such a great area for clubs, but look at it now. Oldham, Bolton, Wigan, Stockport - remember them all in the top two divisions, some for many years, while Bury have gone altogether. Big two Manchester clubs have slowly squeezed everything else.
hope a southern or london team comes up. the national league is now packed with ex football league clubs and is very competitive, well done forest green who are now league one in a few seasons.
the northern clubs used to vote to save them selves and stay in the football league, few came up thru the national league until rules changed. hence my lack of tears . i did not enjoy my visit to oldham. big games v scunny, stockport etc next year
Very sad to see They had a great side late eighties early 90s especially in the cups
Ritchie Holden Marshall Milligan Barrett
Just a few off the top of my head that I can remember
And Bowles is onside, Swinburne has come rushing out of his goal , what can Bowles do here , onto the left foot no, on to the right foot
That’s there that’s two, and that’s Bowles
Brian Moore
Looking at the National League, also a few in there sadly, that show its isn't as easy as just 'bouncing straight back'
Notts County,Southend and Torquay would’ve thought that might be back up by now.Maybe it’s time to have 3 up and 3 down from league 2 rather than just the 2 that it is now?
Is all as it seems with this video? The layout of the multiple balls and players on the pitch suggests this is a warm up...
i think they played the last 15 minutes quite some time after the first 75 due to the pitch invasion, so presumably this is the players warming up again

It is a funny old game... I went to the League One playoff final between Brentford and Yeovil Town in 2013. Yeovil won 2-1 and were playing in the Championship the following season... Brentford had to pick themselves up and start all over again in League One. Fast forward 8 years and Brentford won promotion to the Premier League whilst Yeovil were plying their trade in the National League... talk about a reversal of fortunes
