Brentford Goalkeeper 15:08 - Apr 3 with 5318 viewsextratimeR

You wouldn't want the Brentford Goalkeeper taking you're dog for a walk.

(Huddersfield first goal today)

Got to be the most overrated keeper in the league

Seems to always make a mistake everytime I've seen him

Just two days after a nice puff piece in the Indie in which he said the first thing Thomas Frank had said to him after his play-off final mistake was that next season he wanted his starting position to be even further out of the goal. They really are becoming a parody of themselves.

Grr, pesky 'strange goals' eh?

Looking at the Bees’ automatic promotion prospects, Frank said: “If you look at the last three games, I think we performed to get nine points, if you look objectively on the chances and the situations and the way the games went, but we only have three.

Really does talk a lot of bollocks

I don’t want to make excuses for the Brentford keeper but if you look closely just before Huddersfield score it seems he was lured to the edge of the box by a Bus Stop.

Unfortunately for the Bees no VAR in the Championship to spot these things.

Thing I love about it is at this point, when the miscommunication's happened but the defender's got the ball, he's just sauntering about calm as you like even though his goal is completely empty as if he's assuming Brentford won't give the ball the way. Swallow your pride, sprint back to your net and maybe Huddersfield don't score!

A bit of sad pedantry coming up, sorry!

King Canute did NOT try and turn back the waves!

What he was doing, according to the story, was to demonstrate to his over-fawning courtiers that he did NOT have the power to turn back the tide. It was thus an exercise of HUMILITY / WISDOM rather than self-aggrandisement / foolishness.

I'd get out more, but will have to wait til the 12th 🤔

How do you know that that isn't retrospective P.R to try and disguise the fact that he was, indeed, a power-crazed mad man? Who knows? Power corrupts, and all that.

All that glisters (rather than glitters) is not gold.

Re Brentford managers comments. I think its fair to say QPR set out to win each game so even though we didn’t actually achieve that, in our minds we really completed the season W46, D 0 L0 and will be promoted as Champions, irrespective of where we do finish in the table.

Nah, he was a real cool dude, it was his later (French) detractors that tried to make him look bad. And because they 'won' the cup final in 66 (1066 that is) the story stuck.

Are we talking history or epistemology?

If we know nothing about anything, can we be certain of that?

This presents an interesting problem. If everyone thinks the point of the tale is the opposite of the real point of tale, then do you have to carry on using the tale in the wrong way so everyone will understand you?

I think, in epistemology, that's known as projective identification. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
